I'm good with that. Too much environmental impact!

We need greener energy sources and to start getting rid of our dependence on oil.

Joe made a number of decisions that imho will result in the increase in gas prices to Obama era levels.

curious as to your opinion.
It may never happen. With the increasing uptake of EV's, "gas" (pedant alert: it's a liquid) will become increasingly irrelevant for transportation needs. Oil is still needed for an array of chemicals, lubrication oils and plastics. So refining will not stop. Oh, and I understand that early Americans called it "gas" because they could not spell petrol.

I literally never think or worry about gas prices. But I imagine they will go up in the short term then back down as demand lessens.

I think there will be a trend to raise taxes on gas, both federal and state. Demand and prices are down because of Covid, so it is a good time to raise the taxes without too many people noticing or complaining. It's unfortunate, because gas taxes are very regressive. This will hurt the working poor the most.

Negative gas prices began to drop as the previous administration started making changes. - the ones Joe just reversed.

Yes, there might be other drivers besides taxes that raise the gas price. I'm not real knowledgeable on that. But I do see a trend in my state and federally to raise the gas tax. So maybe there are multiple factors that will lead to higher prices.

There are. Like OPEC saying they will cut production. That usually drives prices up on gas as barrels of oil becomes more expensive.

Don't you love how these folks think the President runs every little aspect of our lives? I think I'm blaming #45 for my constipation over the last year. Oh, and my A1C has been going up UNTIL two weeks after Biden was declared the winner, it dropped by a full point. Go JOE!

The previous administrations directives (which joe just reversed), brought us to energy independence),

What decisions are those?

1. Ending the work on the Keystone pipeline
2. Re-entering the Paris Accord
3. Rescinding leases for oil on Federal lands

Perhaps your news sources are not giving you the full picture.
