Seven Different Kinds of Tongues:
Scripture says divers kinds of tongues:
_“To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:” I Cor 12:10
_“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. I Cor 12:28
1) Personal prayer language - Speaking to/with God
A-“But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,” Jude 1:20;
B – “ For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.” I Cor 14;2
C- “If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret. 28 But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.” (I Cor 14:27-28)
D – ““He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.” I Cor 14:4
2) Intercessory prayer language - Praying for others in the Spirit
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.” Rom 8:26-27
