Ugh. The prosecutor was NOT pursuing the investigation the company Hunter worked for. The Obama Administration wanted the prosecutor removed because he wasn't doing his job. If anything, Joe's work on behalf of the administration made things worse for Burisma.

Sure, this dubious article contradicts the known facts.

At the moment I am highly skeptical of this article, but will wait and see. If the authorities take it up, investigate it and come up with something substantial, then I'll take it seriously.

At the moment I just see it as unsubstantiated smear propaganda and as such it is to be ignored for now.

Everybody who's not a blind sycophant of Trump's knows that that story is a lie - a lie pushed by Russia and willfully repeated by Trump and his surrogates. There's nothing to the story about the Shokin firing except right-wing lies.

The emails suggest this is what happened. Unless there is a proper investigation we will never know the truth.

The emails from 2017 suggest a payoff for an event that happened in 2015?

I'm trying to keep an open mind about this, but so far, TrumpFans haven't even been able to articulate a coherent theory as to what this is all about. All I've heard is that Joe might have been in line for a cut of some deal that Hunter tried to broker (I have no idea if the deal even happened) and that at some point, Hunter may or may not have gotten some guy to shake hands with his dad.

That's it. That's all you guys have alleged, much less proven, and all you've got for proof is a couple of out-of-context emails.

I agree. We will see if this is true. No matter what happened nothing will happen to Joe Biden or anyone. Not many people are held accountable for anything in Washington these days.

But actually, there are plenty of people in the current administration who have been found guilty and some have gone to prison.

It seems a sitting president is immune to accountability (perhaps it catches up on them when they leave office IDK), and being friends and protectors of the sitting president can give immunity e.g. Roger Stone and Flynn. With Flynn, it required the sitting president to find a lackey as an AG. Trump didn't have that with Sessions or Rossenstein. IF once Trump is out of office, then Barr gets held to account, then that would send a clear message for future AGs not to be a lackey. IF he doesn't get held to account, then....

But getting back to Biden, if Biden committed a crime but becomes the president then it seems he will be immune during his term, could pardon Hunter (IF Hunter committed a crime).

I really don't like the USA system where the single person (president) has so much power.

Apparently the esteemed mayor Giuliani shared an image of an alleged Biden whatsapp message that is a cellphone photo of a blackberry that is itself showing a screenshot from an iOS device connected to a Russian cell network. I think I've got the layers right.
