A terrorist group was arrested by our FBI for allegedly planning to kidnap a state governor.

Has the POTUS made any statement denouncing their actions?
I think he told them to stand by, so their actions were a bit premature.

Alleged Michigan plotters attended multiple anti-shutdown protests, photos and videos show
The men protested Michigan’s shutdown and increasingly wore clothing associated with the “boogaloo” movement in the months before their arrests.

Although charging documents placed them at one political rally, a Washington Post examination of images and video found that the men were present at at least seven rallies in Michigan in the six months before their arrests. One of the defendants is seen in a widely circulated photo of several armed men — unidentified at the time — looking down on lawmakers inside the Capitol from a balcony above. Three others are captured in a photo of masked men appearing to stand guard at an ornate entry outside the chamber, an image that has been published — without names — by multiple news organizations.

But the examination also shows that the defendants increasingly came to display patches, insignia and other symbols identified with the “boogaloo” movement, a sometimes violent anti-government ideology that sees a coming civil war and has spread quickly online this year. In one case, an American flag on a defendant’s hat was replaced in June with a boogaloo flag.

Then-congressional candidate Mike Detmer (R) told the crowd that the restrictions the governor imposed on Michiganders regarding the coronavirus were un-American and an attack on freedoms that come from God.

“We are in a war, right now. We are in a war for the hearts, the soul, the traditions and the freedom of our state and our country … it is up to us to end the shutdown,” he said.

...

Musico shouts “traitors” in the video. He is on the edge of the crowd in a camouflage jacket, a tactical vest and a hat reading “In God We Trust.”

I am reminded of a twilight zone episode where a nuclear war had happened and an 'old man' in a cave was telling them what was safe. The people didn't like the answer so they went up to the cave and found it was a computer. They destroyed the computer and then partied doing everything they were not supposed to do.

And they all died from the poisons the computer was keeping them from.

I feel it is the same with people asking to stop the social distancing.

If Musico "trusts in God", then maybe he should let God handle it however it sees fit.

And then they'll complain and whine and cry and ask "why is this happening to me?".

But how much more satisfying to be the instrument of god's will in kidnapping and murdering someone.

Adam Fox’s “Plan A” wasn’t just storming the [Capitol] building and taking hostages, as officials have already said publicly – it was to get in there and televise the execution of tyrants over the course of a week, with no one coming out alive. Or, alternatively, lock the doors and set the building on fire.

Is this one of those many plots started by the FBI to entrap people who would otherwise just talk on the internet?
Just talk about kidnapping a member of government.

I'm 44 years old. Most of my friends are my age or greater. None of us have ever planned to kidnap anyone. Ever. Anywhere.

Is this a conversation topic you find yourself in SO OFTEN that you would otherwise labels calls to kidnap someone "just talk on the internet"?

One of the six on trial has agreed to plead guilty and cooperate in exchange for lighter sentencing. Ty Garbin, 25, signed an agreement pleading guilty in federal court in Michigan to the sole charge against him -- kidnapping conspiracy.
According to the agreement, Garbin will continue to cooperate with prosecutors against the five other defendants, all of whom have pleaded not guilty to kidnapping conspiracy.

Prosecutors preparing for the first prison sentence in an alleged plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer are loudly signaling to five other defendants that a key insider has shared extraordinary details about the operation.

Ty Garbin cooperated within weeks of being arrested, willingly putting a “target on his back to begin his own redemption,” the government said in a court filing.

The government is recommending a nine-year prison term, a long stretch but one that would be even longer if he had not assisted investigators after being charged.

“He filled in gaps in the government’s knowledge by recounting conversations and actions that did not include any government informant or ability to record,” Assistant U.S. Atty. Nils Kessler said.

“Second, he confirmed that the plot was real, not just ‘big talk between crackpots,’ as suggested by co-defendants. Third, he dispelled any suggestion that the conspirators were entrapped by government informants.”

Or, as prisoners like to say: "Why serve ten when you can give five to a friend?"

I don't believe a person who would "just talk on the internet" could possibly be entrapped into taking any sort of action at all on a kidnapping. If they were "entrapped" it's because they would have done it and probably eventually would have done it when someone else enticed them to do it.

I mean, could you be "entrapped" into kidnapping someone? If so, you are probably a dangerous person and it's just a matter of time before you act on it.

I know I could never, ever be talked into it or "entrapped" into doing such a crazy thing. I would just never do such a thing to a human being. Takes a sick mind to even be "entrapped" into that kind of thing. Get them off the streets.

He got 6.

A man has been sentenced to more than six years in prison for plotting to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer over the state's Covid-19 restrictions.
