If the media is to be believed there are some political candidates on the Left, and there certainly are some on the Right.

Which ones should run the country?

Both. Incomes below 15,000 a year need some kind of benefits, real ones, not just empty promises as is often the case right now.

We can afford that.

We can afford both the Left and the Right, what we can't afford are the Republican Party and the Democratic Party.

So the President proposed a CARES Act which flew through Congress, probably with some changes, and most of the benefits went to the very rich and to pump up the stock market, so those of us(?) with lots of stocks wouldn't lose out. And some went out in relief money.

Then the Democrats in Congress decided to try making a relief bill and are still arguing about it.

Why did most of the CARES Act money go to people who don't need it???

The Right has a strong preference for fairness and we can be fair while still ensuring no one starves or lives outside in the Winter or goes without basic medical care.

The money passed up the ladder to the very rich is just as unfair as the often mentioned 'Welfare Queen' who is on welfare but isn't much of a queen

I did for a number of years know a 'Welfare Queen'. She's more stupid and lazy than anything and isn't having much fun at all. She would like to work a bit but if she did would lose all of her benefits because she could no longer be classed as 'severely disabled'. Things may have changed since then. But I do know first hand that the promise of benefits is used to prevent people from working and to make our lives very complicated.

We can afford a zillion welfare queens for the price of a few thousand billionaires and multimillionaires. I think even the more extreme Right Wingers would agree on that. Or that the richest get more tax breaks and government handouts than anyone who works for their money

Joe Biden had a cordial conversation with Andrew Yang who thought he had a real chance of becoming VP, a day before Joe announced that he would be non-sexist and would not pick a man for VP.

I think Andrew Yang is too far to the left and Joe too far to the right, but Andrew isn't corrupt they should be a good team.
