Mosquito larvae eat a lot of junk in the water, keeping the water clean. Without the mosquitoes, the junk proliferates, choking off oxygen and nitrogen needed by aquatic plants. The plants die, so do the fish. The fish die, so do the carnivorous mammals who eat the fish. No predators, the herbivorous animals overpopulate, decimate the higher plant population, and collapse. So now you have no fish, no plants, and no animals.
