'In The Beginning God..'

'In the beginning God..' The Word of God does not try to explain why we should believe in God. It simply states (Genesis 1:1) In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth'. In (John 1:1-14) 'In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life and that life was the light of men..The Word became flesh and dwelt among us full of grace and truth. Jesus was and is the Word. It is through Him and His death and resurrection that we can encounter God and receive the free gift of salvation. Jesus paid for it by His shed Blood!

It's also interesting that the first Word recorded that God speaks is "Let there be light". (Gen 1:3). His Word is light (Isa 8:20) enlightening the darkness (Gen 1:2).
Gen 1:3 typifies the True Light which is to come into the world.
