Does your ice cream choice say anything about your personality?

A fun poll of 2,000 adults aimed to discover if there were any differences between Americans who preferred vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry.

Basing the survey around the nation’s top three top flavors, it found that on average, if you like doing laundry, watching a sci-fi movie, and listening to the soothing sounds of jazz, then you are likely a strawberry ice cream fan.

However, when playing truth or dare, it’s the vanilla fans who won’t hesitate to say dare while chocolate ice cream lovers prefer choosing to tell a truth.

The study conducted by OnePoll, in conjunction with Breyers, also found vanilla ice cream lovers are on average more introverted, prefer dogs over cats, prefer washing dishes over doing laundry and are night owls.

Chocolate ice cream lovers, on the other hand, are more extroverted, enjoy a romantic comedy, and love listening to pop music.

I have been cutting back on ice cream...probably down to about 3 containers a week...sometimes 4. Here is the thing true ice cream lovers should be imaginative and inventive. Vanilla and Chocolate ice cream are simply the base ingredients. My preference is as follows (A brief list):

Chocolate ice cream mixed with strawberry, black raspberry, or black cherry.
Chocolate with orange sherbet.
Vanilla with orange sherbet.
Chocolate with crushed pretzels.
Microwave marshmallows in a large cup till soft then add ice cream as it tends to crisp up the marshmallows.
Oreo cookie crust then add softened ice cream flavors - choc-black raspberry, choc-banana, etc. back in freezer.
Vanilla with root beer to the point of creamy mush.

For those healthy minded:
Chocolate (or Vanilla) with a fruit flavored yogurt
Chocolate with orange juice - try it!

Not sure what this says about personality ... also, every day is "national ice cream day".

Coffee flavored mixed with French vanilla and caramel. The classic coffee flavors.

As for the healthy, coffee with small dark chocolate pieces (dark choc is healthy-ish, I guess???) Maybe coffee with lots of almonds?

To me it sometimes depends on the brand. I love chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, for example, but I have had brands where the cookie dough in the ice cream was just bad. Likewise, I love mint chocolate chip, but I’ve had some brands where the mint is just too strong.

I do love going to the Creamery when I visit Penn State. It is run by the agriculture students and the ice cream is always fantastic.
