By the way, what was “attacking” about those questions...??

It doesn't matter. Donald was upset; therefore he must have been attacked. Anything less implies an imperfection which his followers cannot abide.

Would it be bettet? Sure. Is it THAT important and critical?
Yes, it is important. In times of crisis, people want to be assured. The need to feel that things are under control. In such times, you need a leader who sounds like an actual leader, not some whining, petulant child.

What’s really galling is how Trump’s supporters will praise him when he does actually manage to sound halfway competent, but when he sounds like a complete clod, oh, suddenly it’s not important.

Donald is a control freak. He's always in control. That's what he does.
Control is an illusion. People that are control freaks are chasing a phantom.

It's making a false claim. It's making a false premise before the question. She testing is still a big problem. That's false. We are testing at a rate of a hundred thousand a day and climbing
We are getting turn around at 24-48 hours. Trump is absolutely right. States can develop and use their own tests. They should not be dependent on the Federal government for everything. The government should be a back up for the states not take care of everything.

No, it's not false. At worst, you could say it's an opinion, but it's not false. It wasn't even what she said - all she did was go off a report from the Inspector General for Health and Human Services.

We are testing at a rate of a hundred thousand a day and climbing
And we are still WELL behind dozens of countries per capita. Australia, Canada, Finland, Switzerland, just to name a few.

And yet, when asked exactly the same question a little later, Pence was able to answer it in quite a measured, statesmanlike manner.....

Perhaps they should save their questions for Pence.

Control is an illusion. People that are control freaks are chasing a phantom.

Sucking all the oxygen out the room is a form of control.

My ex-wife would have seemingly spontaneous outbursts of anger when she wasn't getting enough attention, but they were carefully planned and executed. And it worked as she got the attention of everyone for a few moments. Sadly, while she was in complete control of herself at all times she was unable to properly manage her life.

Not a bad idea -- Donald certainly has no answers.

Trumps ramblings during these pressers will definitely hurt him politically. So there's that. Pence actually looks quite presidential in these meetings. He certainly displays genuine empathy as well. He is also a very good communicator. "Pence 2024" perhaps?

I've noticed that Trump has a tendency to lash out at reporters individually in addition to the profession.

What makes me laugh is how clearly it speaks to his incredibly fragile ego but...that's a sidebar.

Trump Lashes Out at Kristin Fisher: 'Being So Horrid'

What I'm curious about is taking a look at the question that is asked and break it down to see if he is being fair in his assessment:
So they were quoting verbatim from an IG report.

Does that, in fact make those reporters third rate reporters?

Testing is STILL a big issue in the US. This is a true statement non? And if it is, why does he go after the reporter in an attempt to reframe? You want a gold star for doing something? If what you're doing is not remedying the problem, except questions or dare I say, criticism.

If I'm being honest I was hoping to find more information about this story specifically but when I google search "Trump berates/attacks reporter" I get hits from several other recent instances where he does so. So apologies for not having more information.

What are some other examples of trump going after a reporter s question. Were the reporters questions unreasonable? Did they deserve scorn?

I didn't read the article, but I don't blame him one bit. Reporters/news have been a huge, and undue thorn in his side ever since the election.

Lashing out is mild all considered. :)

So Trump is completely in control of himself but cannot manage his life....

Apparently he manages it quite well (my ex-wife could take a lesson).

Why else would he lash out against reporters? It's the only thing his followers respect.

Why wait? If he's such an improvement over Donald, why not have them swap places on the ticket?

I don't respect Trump for this, but I do disrespect the press for the continuous gotcha questions. Even his team is tired of them. What is interesting is that those questions are obviously scripted and delivered in robot fashion. It's like they are wind up toys that talk.

Care that our president comes unglued under pressure? Indeed.

Where exactly did he become 'unglued'? I saw passion, frustration of four years of 'gotcha' style questioning and a completely clear response.

Did he show anger and frustration - sure, there is nothing wrong with that.

What "gotcha" question set him off this time?
