Hello folks, Back in October 2019, My left eye got blinded from the green star-shower laser that projected on to the building before walking into a shop. I was watching the green laser dots move around until it went across the window that reflected the beam into my left eye. I got flash-blinded for a moment then recovered and thought nothing of it as I was shopping.

Luckily, I had an eye appointment the same day to get new glasses and did a routine eye exam. The doctor dilated my eyes to look into the back of my eyes and didn't find anything and my eyes looked normal which was reassuring.

On the drive home, I started noticing a little spot in my left eye just upper left from fixation point. It's like a dazzling discoloring spot especially when i blink. As days and weeks went by, the spot in my eye persisted and this is when my life was in shambles. I cannot not focus on day to day things anymore as the scotoma (blind spot) is noticeable. I fell into a very deep depression I ever had in my life and my I has not been the same ever since. My life was otherwise wonderful and I was a very happy loving outgoing person and I have been blessed with wonderful things even through tough times prior to the incident. Everyday has been a struggle trying to go about my day and not a single day ever goes by without thinking about the laser eye injury. It is very suffocating feeling at times for the fact I will live with this symptom for the rest of my life.

So, I am in need of prayers that my eyes will be healed from the laser injury so I can continue to enjoy the gift of my eyesight unhindered and be able to get on with my life and enjoy all the blessings once again. I greatly appreciate your time reading all of this and I hope your prayers are answered soon.

Are they really bright enough to damage your eye? That doesn't seem very safe... I was thinking perhaps the eye doctor did something. I would just return to an eye doctor (maybe try a different one?) and tell them the issue you're having.

Also, don't just assume it will get better on its own. I made that mistake with a corneal abrasion and two years later the pain came back and it was excruciating. After months of all kinds of weird vision things going on (one day I don't even need glasses and the next day everything is blurry, pink eye symptoms coming and going) and frequent, excruciating pain I finally got it looked at and found out that the injury from two years ago never fully healed. My eyelid was constantly re-opening the original cut - basically constant corneal abrasions all day and all night... It finally healed after wearing contact bandages and using steroid drops, but I'll have to put an ointment in that eye every night indefinitely now.

I thought I was looking at a lifetime of pain (or getting the surface of my eye scraped off ) but I had people praying for me and I took extreme measures of my own like only drinking distilled water and forcing myself awake at 3 AM for weeks. Now I'm totally pain free and back to normal aside from the ointment routine.

So get it looked at again and I pray for fast healing.

Thanks for the reply, It has nothing to do with the cornea thankfully, the lasers did flash blind me like sunlight or a camera flash so it was definitely the lasers. It is the retina and I know that treatment options are next to non existent. It falls into the same category as if you looked at the eclipse without eclipse glasses. The spot is very tiny.

Thanks for all your prayers! I just hope the retinal injury from the green star shower laser resolves. If anyone ever got blinded by a laser diode at some point in your life (1mw to 5mw), how long did it take before the symptoms to finally resolve? It was only a split second accidental exposure equivalent to a camera flash as the lasers were moving.

Praying for your healing.
Feeling much better. Thanks a lot! Whereas Friday night I could barely breathe, couldn't find any way to lie down and really thought I might have to have someone drive me to the ER, right now I am almost painless. I took a double dose of Advil every few hours and that helped the pain go down a lot.

Also, Saturday morning I woke up in almost the same amount of pain as I have been in on Friday but I asked Jesus for some relief somehow. I really needed to take a deep breath but I couldn't handle the pain. Against everything I read online about cold compresses and such, I took a really hot shower and the pain largely dissipated. Immediately I could take a deep breath again! So I think that was an answered prayer.

I ran out of medicine and left my wallet in my car when I went to get some, so I didn't attempt to buy more in case they asked for my ID. I could feel the pain returning, but my social anxiety was keeping me from going back inside "Will they recognize me from before? I'll look foolish if they do. Will they be suspicious? Will the cashier think I like her?" ^_^ It's a real problem I live with some days... Later, though, I was eating out with family and on the way home we stopped at a pharmacy so I could run in and get some. The next morning I felt great.

So thanks for the prayers! I think I'm well on my way to recovery. I even went hiking today, making sure to rest whenever my lung felt achey.

Hi, it's me again. I greatly appreciate all your prayers for me. I am still seeing a tiny spot in my left eye that I will have to live with for the rest of my life. I hope it isn't the case. Unfortunately this is not something that doctors can do to treat and fix it but only God can. I miss my former life as it draws smaller and distant as the days go by. I need as much prayers as possible but I know that God's first priority is fighting the coronavirus outbreak right now and I have the faith once the outbreak is resolved, God will finally heal the laser damage in my eye.

*sigh* Another month has passed and the symptoms still remains. :( Please don't stop praying as I need as many prayers as possible. My quality of life has deteriorated since the macula damage from the Star Shower laser projector. Sorry for triple-posting but this little blind spot in the center of my vision has changed my life in a very bad way.
