Fauci has commented on this very point last week when he was missing for two days. He had more important meetings to attend...

He also implicitly criticized Trump very recently. You might not be seeing him up there again for a while.

Yes, I saw two of the press conferences and Fauci's diplomatic way of correcting the President. He has a way of doing so while allowing Trump to save face (rare skill). Trump won't touch him. And if he does, well, Trump will just further seal his fate.

Trump knows that everybody knows that Dr. Fauci I is the smartest person at the press conference.

What fool would believe the term "possible game changer" meant more promising than we know it? What wrong impression would a "possible" answer provoke?

He said possible, not probable.
What? Are you serious? "game changer in the history of medicine". That is an IRRESPONSIBLE phrase to use.

And as for what fool? I have disastrous new for you regarding the intelligence of some of your countrymen.

My question: If he wasn't trying to get people's hopes up, why did he say it...at ALL? Why did it need to be said past "We are currently testing these drugs".
That's all that needs to be said. Especially if it's all anecdotal evidence; you can't even say "shows promise" at that stage.

But not, when you're the president, you get to spout off, literally, anything you want I guess.

I tend to agree. The same sex marriage issue is an issue of secular law not religion. Some other people being homosexual is irrelevant to my being a Christian. Even if one considers homosexual sex to be a sin, one cannot put any particular sin at the center of Christian belief. All sins are equally sins and all sins are forgiven and no sinner is less of a sinner based upon what sin they are more attracted to.

Consenting adults in private don't need promoting to those it doesn't concern, including those not mature to handle it.

Please don’t pretend the evangelical Christians are ‘making do’. He’s the president regardless of what Christians say or do, so please explain to me why it’s necessary to defend his despicable behaviour constantly, have evangelical leaders praising him over and over, and most importantly of all, absolutely no Christian movement to replace him in the primaries for the next election. This creature is your responsibility, and your organizations are doing nothing to find a better conservative candidate. So let’s stop the pretense, it’s making me sick.

I'm actually critical of a lot of things he does. Don't buy into what you h
I am a Christian and it is easy to find a better candidate for which to vote.

How so? We can vote for a sinner but we can't vote for a candidate that will advocate for sin. Surely you wouldn't help a thief rob someone or give your buddy a ride to cheat on his wife. So how can you vote for someone who will give more rights to homexuals or any immoral act and push for abortion rights? How can you advocate for sin?

There's a lot more to Christianity than abortion and the gays. I can understand why abortion is such a high priority, but the attention given to homosexuality is asinine, bigoted, and arguably unAmerican. Whomever has been preaching to you that it oughta be one of your top two priorities as a Christian has been preaching some bad theology.

It's one thing to give hope and provide optimism. It's another thing to be dismissive of safeguards and to act like a juvenile and snidely mock opponents during these briefings.

I understood this to be a Christian forum yet I've seen plenty of people so far not believe the word of God. Am I mistaken?

To some extent, a statesperson simply comments. Trump doesn't carry this off well. He seems to have an ingrained wish to impress it on everybody that he is exaggerating, as if he was a TV personality or something.

The pharmaceutical industry is rigidly based on narrowing the uses of simple, old fashioned drugs not broadening them.

At this distance, I was dismayed when he praised the KKK at Charlottesville (which has got nothing to do with the infiltration of a small contingent of villains on the other side) and didn't shed any light on the meaning of "well regulated militia" and its basis of authority, purpose and deployment.

He has always been calling lots of people "losers" so it's natural anyone should be upset seeing vacuous-headed youths in a MAGA hat. He learned the wolf in sheep's clothing method as well as anyone did. Makes great viewing!

Trump has some good policies but he doesn't sell them, he sabotages them himself.

Politicians like bishops aren't supermen but are under constant influences which is why we have to pray for just government as a principle, whoever the personalities might be. Christians have forgotten the principle of principle. We aren't supposed to just join in manoeuvres (despite what one of my old churches told me for 28 years!)

Update:

Fauci has not attended the last two briefings on coronavirus.

It looks like Donny dumb*** has grown tired of reality again.

Which means even money that Fauci is cleaning out his office as we speak.

I'm sorry that my desire for accurate information and appropriate action from my President about a deadly disease disturbs you.
It was accurate. He said it was possibility, he never said it does work and we are sending it out as the answer. He's right, if it does work then it is a game changer. Let's hope it does work.

Funny that abortion and homosexuality are both barely mentioned in the Bible at all yet for some Christians are the single most important issues, yet things like compassion, humility and looking after the poor and meek which Jesus himself talks about constantly seem to get ignored or relegated to something that can be intepreted by the reader to suit whatever they want.

Well according to you guys the president had to say what you want him to say and the way you want him to say or you will attack him for it. It's patently ridiculous.

Or rather he can say any dishonest, ridiculous, patently idiotic thing he wants and you'll find a way to defend him for it regardless.

He's pushed it on his Twitter feed as well. He's re-tweeted both of these links:

His focus on it communicates something much more significant than just "a possibility".

Believers really do believe in the things you mentioned. That why so many charities are Christian based. The Bible teaches individual giving and church giving. It does NOT teach that we should make or force anyone to give. It always a personal giving. L

But you have no qualms about using the power of a secular state to force people who do not think abortion or homosexuality are sins to refrain from them

Perhaps we should actually test it before we send it out?

You know, like responsible medical personnel would do?

Of course --- because compelling people to give would inconvenience Christians... The power of the state is much better suited to oppress those that certain Christians deem deserving of such treatment.
