Weird how so many of Donald's employees are going along with it, then. I mean, they're even jumping in after they testified to add additional extra details of how Donald broke the law.

That's what the Press has been telling you is happening behind closed doors. If they have a need to twist the facts that are readily available to anyone to look up online, then why should we believe what they say is being said behind closed doors? Personally, I'd rather wait until public hearings are being held. Then we'll see for ourselves if such testimony is actually happening.

I don't wonder why the country is dividing. I've witnessed the hatred and the vitriol coming from the right for over a decade. Trump is the manifestation of that hate.

And the daily vitriol against Trump from the Leftist media? Are you going to claim Trump is responsible for the hate they put on display each and every day?

Correct. It is the overwhelming evidence seen so far that means he did something wrong.

Uh, you might not want to use that word! I did yesterday, and still haven't heard the end of it today. ^_^

It can't be obstruction when Trump had the authority to fire Comey for any reason or no reason at all. Comey said that himself. And it hasn't been proven that Trump fired him to prevent the investigation.
Correction: Trump did not have the authority to fire Comey "for any reason". He certainly had the authority to fire him for "no reason," and he was under no obligation to provide a reason for firing Comey. However, he did provide a reason for it:

“And, in fact, when I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said, ‘You know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story. It’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should have won.’”

Firing the person in charge of investigating you because he's investigating you is pretty clear obstruction of justice.

Firing the person in charge of investigating you because he's investigating you is pretty clear obstruction of justice.

That's just part of the quote, and therefore part of the story. The NYTimes even sheds some light on the subject with the following:

“But regardless of recommendation, I was going to fire Comey knowing there was no good time to do it And in fact, when I decided to just do it, I said to myself — I said, you know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story. It’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should’ve won.”

However, in that same interview with the NBC News anchor Lester Holt, Mr. Trump also said Mr. Comey was fired because of his incompetence — a decision the president acknowledged could drag out the Russia investigation:

“As far as I’m concerned, I want that thing to be absolutely done properly. When I did this now, I said I probably maybe will confuse people. Maybe I’ll expand that — you know, I’ll lengthen the time because it should be over with. It should — in my opinion, should’ve been over with a long time ago because it — all it is an excuse. But I said to myself I might even lengthen out the investigation. But I have to do the right thing for the American people. He’s the wrong man for that position.”

Did Trump Fire Comey Over the Russia Inquiry or Not?

Except that he said so on national TV.

We're not supposed to remember that -- and anyone who knows what's good for them won't either.

Lol, 22 pages in. Donald never released the transcript. He released a summary that was edited. He cowardly had the details of the call put on a secret service. He thuggishly intimidated folks who knew about it from testifying.

Yes, it's often my initial judgement that he's lying. As I said, so many of his lies are so blatant that they sound like a lie right off the bat.

For example, I saw Trump say this:

And could tell that he was lying. Before calling him a liar, I (and others) researched the claim.

When he said: "After the election, I will release my taxes", I didn't know he was lying at the time, but in retrospect, it is obvious.

His claim to be a self made man who started with a small loan of $1 million definitely struck me as a lie, but it wasn't until the NYT published an article detailing just how much he got from his father that I brought attention to it as a lie.

He recently said that he had no idea who Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman were (despite there having multiple pictures of them together). I didn't call Trump out on that lie until it was released today that he had sent Parnas an Instagram message saying he valued their friendship. This particular lie reminded me of Trump claiming he didn't know who David Duke was (in regards to Duke's endorsement of Trump), despite having previously commented about David Duke.

What you never changed your mind? I have no issue with Trump changing his mind, especially in light of what the left is doing. His taxes would be squeeky clean, but they would find something to attack and criticize him on. It's just dumb.

What you never changed your mind?

I said this in post #423, but you asked the same exact question:

If I make a promise, and later think it's a bad idea, I still follow through with my promise. Changing my mind about whether it's a good idea or not doesn't relieve me of my obligation.

Not only did he promise to release his taxes and then not do so, he also claimed that he kept all of his campaign promises. That is yet another lie.

I have no issue with Trump changing his mind, especially in light of what the left is doing. His taxes would be squeeky clean, but they would find something to attack and criticize him on. It's just dumb.

What's dumb is Trump breaking his campaign promise to release his taxes (i.e. a lie) and claim he kept all his promises (another lie), and his supporters refusing to acknowledge these plain lies (as you're doing right here).

Absolutely. Trump's entire campaign was one of dishonesty and vulgarity. The media reacted to Trump's actions.

Why shouldn't the media call Trump out on his many lies? When they did so, Trump labeled them an enemy of the people. He's working slowly to try to silence dissent.

Because they've been constantly lying about him. They clearly want him impeached just like the democrats do. They even admitted after the election of 2016 that they did everything they could to get Hillary elected. If those things don't show a bias rather than simply reporting truth, then they certainly are no friend of the people.

Except that he said so on national TV.

Comey admitted he could be fired for any reason. It can't be obstruction if the president has that authority. Comey admitted it. And there were a number of reasons to fire Comey. The IG report says so. Obstruction cannot be proven in this case.

What I've seen is the lefts vitriol and attacks since Bush became president. The hatred and vitriol from the left is beyond the pale. Unfortunately the right has started to learn from the left and is hitting back. It's a shame, but to many on the right it was the only way to defend themselves.

We have been called homophobes, bigots, racists, deplorables, ridiculed as ignorant, clingers to God and guns etc. The left demonstrates with violence, trys to shut down our speech on you tube, Facebook, college campuses and public forums. They verbally assault people in restaurants and follow them around yelling obscenities etc. It happens all over the place.

The right generally does none of that on a consistent pervasive basis. There has been white supremacists that have committed violence, but they are abhorred by the rest of us. In fact one of them was a leftist. The left however supports or defends the actions of those that I mentioned above.

How do you explain the fact that some of Trump's guys refused to show up?

What's disgusting to me is the constant consistent attacks against the man and full acceptence of allegations, when they haven't been proven to be true. If it's negative the leftists believe it lock stock and barrel.

Even if allegations were not proven to be true, Trump deserves every single attack he ever got and more. You can't be an American voter without knowing Trump lies all the time and only cares about himself.

The media shouldn't call Trump out on his lies because they've been constantly lying about him? That's nonsensical.

Trump has been lying about every topic under the sun. It's not the press that tells me he's lying, it's my eyes and ears, watching and hearing him do it with reckless abandon. He's been a professional liar for years and years, well before he ran for President in 2016.

Feel free to show me all the lies the media has been saying about Trump. It's been obvious for a long time that outlets are biased. CNN and MSNBC are in bed with the Democrats and FoxNews is in bed with the Republicans. All of those outlets spin the news into their narrative and highlight/obscure news that is beneficial/detrimental to their narrative. For every lie you can show me that "the media" made about Trump, I can show you a Trump lie, if not 2 or 3.

Almost to a one, every Trump supporter (at least on these forums) dismisses and justifies Trump's lies again and again. He lies and then lies about his lies. He and his supporters keep claiming he's kept all of his promises, but most of the ones he made the loudest he's failed to keep, even those entirely within his control (such as releasing his taxes).

People who think Trump keeps his promises did not know what his plans were because he lied about all of them. He said his most important priority is health care. While Congress debated new health care plans in 2017, Trump was focusing on North Korea's nuclear weapons.

Nothing says “A political party doesn’t actually do anything anymore” like basking in its glories of over 150 years ago.
