Has anybody watched the video? No comments? It is really important that people understand what the arguments are before taking sides, and many of the climate change activists really don't know the arguments.

I watched the vid,

and was thinking of it during the day,

could not find words to express.

But it was put over in sensible fashion.

Lots of thoughts came, but I don,t like the use of force
in any form.

So with that I came to the conclusion that,

"Bring her around"

If anyone has stood at the helm of a vessel,

you do not turn the ship around violently,

easy does it, bring her (ship) around.

The speaker in the vid was doing just that.

That is my thought, at any rate.

Oh clearly....you're living in a photovoltaic house and your car is basically a big wind turbine. No?

I mean....I don't want to be the one to tell you that's just trading one problem for another, but wind turbines break. Photovoltaic cells wear out and need replaced. What do you think people will do when the resources for those turn scarce?

Who says we can't do anything? Stop wasting money rebuilding these places where hurricanes blow over half the houses every year. Stop allowing the flow of millions of illegal immigrants into the country from those nations affected by devastating climate change. Place limits on childbirth in our own nation.

They're doomed. What exactly is there to be concerned about?

1. You don't understand activism. You don't have any power (because you lack wealth and the few who can vote don't vote). You don't have any leverage. What are you going to do? Refuse to go to school? That's just going to leave a generation of adults too uneducated to compete in the real world.

Teen activism?? Please. Do all the teen activism you want.

What have you chosen to do?
Gee youre so jaded. So Anti action. How have you gotten like this. What's happened in your life to see the world in a prism where you feel impotent.

We've debated before and you can serve it up when you choose to. I'd rather have people like you with an assertive action mindset But that's up to you to shake yourself out of your pesomistic impotent outlook

Your the type of person, eloquent and analytic we need on our side But only if you choose to be altruistic and want a better world for future generations

If you can't, then get out of the way.

Yawn....

Remember Occupy Wall Street? I remember it....I remember thinking that it was a good cause (extreme wealth inequality) and a lot of people...but then something happened. We got to see their plan. No leadership, no real goals, just a vague problem with a lot of people whining about it. It was interesting for awhile, but I can't say it achieved much....and everyone went home.

Remember Black Lives Matter? I won't say they didn't achieve anything...they got a handful of cops fired. They got police a handful of training days. Did they get police to stop shooting black people? Of course not. When you look at their list of demands it becomes apparent that they went off the rails. They had all the momentum in the world and no real leadership. They actually got cities to pass laws making it legal to run over protestors illegally blocking the streets.

Remember the Women's March for Something? Yup. What was that about? Trump? Equality? I can tell you what it turned into...a mess of infighting over trans-women, diversity, and antisemitism. Now it's inconsequential.

Now...the children are gonna get it right? On climate change?? I could make an entire thread about what's wrong with modern protesting. Lack of leadership, no clearly defined achievable goals, no will to actually accomplish the goals....

See protestors want to take a selfie at the protest, get likes when they post it, then talk about how much they "care" and try to shame those who don't. They don't want to go to jail....they don't have the stomach for real protesting. They just want to virtue signal to everyone and get a pat on the head for "doing the right thing".

How's that for jaded?
