Hi all

Say as a believer you been praying for many things. Does God sometimes wait until we in a right way with Him until He answer's prayers?

For one example He may say no not until you get closer relationship with me. But i also look at it as we not 100% perfect and it's difficult to 100% follow Him we have all failed Him somewhere in our time.

i do sometime think God's like i can't answer that prayer until you closer to me. It's true i still need to get closer to Him but could this be why God not answering my prayer or prayers.

Anyone can help me on this?

God may be saying no, or not yet. The reasons could be varied. It may not be His will to give you a positive answer because it may not be good for you, and may not glorify Himself. It might be that it’s not time to grant the prayer.

Like Jesus said, “not My will, but Yours be done.” That should be your attitude. Keep praying I until He answers, or until you know it’s not His will. But do so always with Him and His glory in mind.

It depends on what we're praying for. He always answers our prayers, but His answers can be "yes," "no," or "not right now." Our prayers should always be for what He wants for us, not what we want for ourselves.

  • 1 John 5:14-15 says, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him."

Here are a few other scriptures for you to consider and pray through:

  • 2 Corinthians 5:15 -- And he [Jesus] died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.
  • Matthew 6:25 & 33 -- Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear...(v.33) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Hope that helps! :)

God hears every prayer of those who know him, but he responds to those prayers with what you need - not what you want. God sees your life from beginning to end - not just this moment in time. He knows what is best for you. God wants you to depend on him completely. Trust the path he has placed before you. Follow him. That is the path to victory.

God answers prayers according to "His will", not ours. He knows best even though we may not understand.

God has fully and amazingly answered every prayer of ours before He formed the world. Our task is to see through the door He opens for us to see the answers.

Matthew 6
8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.

Revelation 3
8 “‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

Revelation 3
20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.

Matthew 7
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

Luke 6
38 Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Luke 6
31 And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.

Mark 11
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Matthew 7
8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

We were not created before the world was created. This OP is specifically addressing our prayers today.

God has already answered yes to every prayer He gives you.
Your task, is to ask for the correct prayers.
In Jesus name...:amen:

Thank you for the considered response.
Your prayer today was heard and answered before you were born.

Ephesians 1
4 Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love

Jeremiah 1
5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

No doubt God knew His creation and they were perfect in His eyes until the fall. After that only regeneration through His Holy Spirit by the work of Christ can bring us back to Him. I am not one to believe God pre-planned every move we make, He has foreknowledge of what moves we will make. There is a difference IMO. It seems in your comment that there is no room for "free will".

You can get no closer to God than through the Blood of Jesus Christ, and in whom we all have equi-distant access. :)

It's true that God might delay in answering some prayers for our own good, yet if we persist in prayers He might respond to it even at a time He might feel is inappropriate but you'll bear the consequences of such answered prayers eventually. For example in the book of Exodus where the Israelites prayed for meat and he gave them quails that eventually made some of them sick and when they asked for a king, to Him this meant they rejected Him but because they persisted, He gave them one but warned them about the consequences of their choice, which they faced later.
