Amish

What does anyone know about the Amish? I am really curious about their beliefs...and I don't think Amish people chat online (??) so I'm asking anyone with experience. Are they Christians or is their religion really different?

Good question. I don't think they'd have any official web sites...

Old Order Amish do not chat online...but some less strict amish people might...

There are Mennonite web sites, and they are similar to the Amish...you might want to check some of them out...

i wouldnt think they would be online...since they dont really have electricity...but im not sure if they are all that strict or not

I live in a large Mennonite Community. You can find the Amish where I live about 30-40 miles away. The Amish are stricter. They do not use electricity and would not be online.

They are very intersting people and it is very intersting to live around them. You have to get use to driving with horse and buggies on the road it is not easy and sometimes requires a lot of patience. The Amish drive the grey buggies and the Mennonites drive the black ones. Some Mennonites do drive vehicles but they are all painted black even the bumper. I don't know why.

They are very polite people.

Yes, they are very kind people. But like any community, they have their difficulties. I have visited the Amish communities and they live very simply and are well thought of generally. They have great food and it is made from scratch. Yum, yum.

I've never met an Amish person, but I have met some Mennonites. Very nice people.
