Just read it as written. How did they care for their needs on their journey? I see pictures of them laden with 'bindles'.
You mean before pretty much everything and everyone was taken away from them and they were put in President Trumps concentration camps?

If those things were taken from them that's a different story.

Agreed. It is ridiculous. I’m pro life. I know a lot of pro life people. Not one single one of them believe “as long as they’re born, who cares?”
It’s a stupid premise and no pro lifers believe it. But pro abort people keep yelling it as if it were true. Talk about ridiculous.

Actions (or lack thereof in this case) speak louder than words. Yes, "pro-birth" is a real thing.

Closed because, as I said, I will wait to "see".

Clearly yours are shut to the reality of how the media treats trump and how many times this type thing has be posted only to find there was just a bit more to it.

But, that's ok, you aren't the only one who refuses to see those facts, and can't understand why some of us are a bit jaded, and for very good reason.

Again, I'll take a wait and see approach on this one.
If Trumps own words are not enough to convince you what a despicable person he is, and we have all heard plenty, straight from the horses mouth, then nothing will. It is you whose eyes and ears are closed.

It's somewhat justified when "pro-life" politicians demonstrate total disregard for children and pregnant women being bombed / droned to death, are all for cutting programs like WIC, etc.

No one officially holds that position, but there are people who act like they do.

Trump's team also argued that requiring minors to sleep on cold concrete floors in crowded cells with low temperatures similarly fulfilled that requirement.

Made to sound like the children are going to be entirely too cold, and a cruel trump is going to allow that. IOW, that reeks of twisted/biased reporting.

So of course I doubt that, and it doesn't help the believeability of the rest of the story. Think I'll wait for the truth to emerge.
Here's a better article. Frankly, as far as sleeping on thin mats on concrete floors, with emergency blankets used in hiking packs, was established a long time ago as the truth and nobody, including the government, is saying it isn't.
Feds Tell 9th Circuit: Detained Kids 'Safe and Sanitary' Without Soap

Washington Post have an article as well but it's behind a paywall for me so I can't really recommend it, although I think it's probably accurate. This is pretty cut and hard.

Feds Tell 9th Circuit: Detained Kids 'Safe and Sanitary' Without Soap

Are the kids cold or are their beds warm enough? In summer, I would welcome cold concrete, and I'm not kidding. My only point is the media making this sound worse than it is, all for their pathetic little agenda. But thanks, I'll look at the article. I only wanted to make clear what I was, and had every reason too be concerned about.

EDIT: "the media" AND those here that cry wolf way too often.

Can someone help me out with this from the linked article?:

"On Tuesday, Fabian asked the Ninth Circuit to reverse Gee’s findings because they added new requirements – such as giving detainees soap and toothbrushes – that were not specifically included in Flores."

Was that as it appears, and it was taken care of three days ago?

How comfortable is concrete?

This is an AP article:
Migrant Children Describe Neglect, Mistreatment At Texas Border Facility | HuffPost

I can only quote one line per the rules regarding AP articles. This is one of the ones that bothers me:

She said an 8-year-old taking care of a very small 4-year-old with matted hair couldn’t convince the little one to take a shower.
That is neglect on the part of the caretakers, which Border Control and Immigration and the Trump administration as the children are detained.

If you read the article and also find the video of the discussion between the judges and the admin's lawyer, you will find it is not a new requirement.
The judges are incredulous that soap, etc, is not considered needed for a safe and sanitary conditions.

The judges heard the argument the administration's lawyer made. I suspect, from their shocked responses, the judges will not agree with the administration.

Short sighted.

Are you convinced folks here, as well as the media have tenancy to not only blow things out of proportion, but sometimes much worse, giving others good reason to be careful and not to believe everything they hear right off the bat?

I actually commented on that in my last post but deleted it because I wasn't sure I understood correctly, so thank you.

I think this article will answer your questions.
Are US child migrant detainees entitled to soap?

Minute 1 in the 'supporting' video shows immigrant kids sleeping on cushions, on clean tile floors, covered with space blankets, in uncrowded conditions.

Also it looks like the mats the kids are sleeping on were provided.

Where was all this taking place? Or where are the concrete floors located?
Like for the past year in places like Texas, since about April 2018. It gets cold at night in Texas. It can get cold in winter in AZ - I know, I lived there over 30 years. The desert can be cold at night except in the summer.

The DOJ is arguing that shorter term children migrants do not need the cushions etc. The video is of some longer care ones.
