Shall we indeed accept good from God and not accept adversity? Job 2:10
Thank you.Hebrews 12:6-11
"For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.
If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?
But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.
Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live?
For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness.
Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it."
This reminded me of the bibleverses I put over there, I especially thought of the first verse, but all of it sticks together!
We experience both good and bad, we are blessed by God but we are not always shielded from bad which happens to us. God does protect us, and provides for us. Although we may not always understand nor fully accept the bad which happens to us at times, it is during our difficult times where we will grow much more.
Being born into a sinful world, with a selfish mentality, we are capable of doing evil from a very early stage in life. It is how we became after Adam and Eve's fall in Eden, the wages of death are set into our blood veins from the moment we are conceived in the womb. So the way we get chastened by God may seem unfair and difficult for us, but He truly does what is for our best and preparing us for eternity! Our standard and understanding of good is not seen the same way as God's standard of good! We look at it mostly through a selfish scope, this is how we are raised up doing based on this world's mentality. Because we are selfish by nature, it is the human way of seeing it. Yet His ways are higher than our ways! And His thoughts are better than our's! We may not always understand it, but we should know that the way He works with us is all based upon what is for our best in Him, all done for His glory alone!
Keep on being blessed in God through Jesus Christ's Name!
Thank you.
You're welcome. The narrow Gate, Amen. You are welcome! And thank you too, for bringing in that bible verse which inspired me as well!
It is one of the bible verses which stuck out for me when reading in Job my last time. It is easy to think, because of how we are taught in this world(especially this part of the world where we live)about having to pursue our own happiness! Whilst Jesus Christ never mentioned about us needing to do this, He said we would experience persecution when following Him.
Most of the first disciples weren't known for having comfortable and easy lives. Also an easy hint when we look at what Jesus talked about this part as well; Matthew 7:13-14
"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."
I must put faith in God during uncertain times.
Thank you for the reply sister.I am reminded of this bible verse John 10:10
"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
This is a great reminder, as the devil will use anything and anyone to try putting you down. Yet the next part is truly encouraging to also keep in mind, as whilst the devil wants to steal, kill and destroy from us, Jesus Christ wants to give us abundantly with life!
This includes anything which is good! Abundantly with joy, peace, love etc... anything which is good in Him!
Sometimes it can be easy getting a bit distracted by what happens to us, as well as when we mess up! But Jesus never leaves our side! He never forsakes us but stays always faithful, even when we are being unfaithul towards Him, yet He never lets us down!
We know how the devil works against us, and even though we may still fail and doing mistakes, we can always rise up again and get back into a stronger position in Christ!
Amen.True.
Keep in mind that when it seems like nothing is happening nor changing in your life, there is still happening growth in God! He is working with you, molding and shaping you into the image of His Son Jesus Christ!
I see opportunity in being cheated or treated unfairly. Its hard for me but i must have faith that God is my helper, not man, and He will make things right.
I recently saw a seed planted and bear fruit in my heart and mind. A joyful observation.

Thank you, i agree. He will certainly use everything you go through for something good.
Romans 8:28
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
Yet what we define as good may not always be seen as good in God's eyes. But when going through tough situations, we will see much fruit from it at a later time than whilst we are going through it at the time.
Imagine Joseph when he was thrown into prison because of false witness 'caused by the wife of Pothifar, he may not have noticed much fruits in the beginning whilst enduring his time there. Yet later he admitted to his brothers that what they did with evil in mind against him, were used for something good in God.
Genesis 45:5-8
"But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life."
"For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting. And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt."
He knew God had something big in plan as he was shown this throughout a dream given to him from God, though things may have looked dark and difficult whilst he was in prison. Later on he would see the fruits clearer and understand better the way God worked this all out for good, and for something which would also benefit more for the people around him.
Just keep on trusting in as well as having faith in God, as no matter how difficult or how impossible some situations may appear at times, God has something better in mind. And He will not let you down, nothing is impossible for Him, as well as He has everything in control. He is what holds everything together, without Him everything which exists wouldn't continue existing! Also the devil and the demons are kept in His control, they cannot do anything if He doesn't allow it to happen. And anything He allows to happen in our lives are part of our growth, and helps us to get more formed and shaped. What we think of as difficult and can also feel like hindrances sometimes, are ways of helping us more than when we are feeling comfortable. We do grow more during trials, this is clear.
