I heard that if you swear at god in your mind or anywhere that you will die is this true?
Hi Jags, first off, the fact that your are concerned about your sin is a very good sign. Notice what A. W. Pink has to say about that at the bottom of this post.
Also, the Bible tells us a couple of things about sin and forgiveness that we all need to keep in mind.
Mark 3
28 Truly I say to you, ~all~ sins shall be forgiven the sons of men, and ~whatever~ blasphemies they utter.
............... except one, the unpardonable sin .. and you did not commit that one
1 John 1
8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
10 If we say we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
1 John 2
1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
Take special note of the Apostle John's use of the word "we" in the passage above in his 1st Epistle. The reason that this is important is because the Apostle includes himself in these instructions as someone who still sins/still needs to ask God for forgiveness.
So when you sin, ask God to forgive you and take Him at His word, believing/knowing that He has, because He promised you that He would do so (and that, even if you don't happen to "feel" forgiven in the moment). And if you sin again, ask Him to forgive you again .. and He will
God bless you!

p.s. - a bad "thought-life" is a difficult thing to deal with as a Christian, but sadly, it happens to many of us. The final answer to a bad thought life is found in filling your mind with the word of God, and treasuring it in your heart* by learning it, knowing it/understanding it deeply ..
Deuteronomy 11:18-21; Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:1-3, 119:9-11; Romans 12:2; 2 Timothy 2:15, 3:16-17.
It's also necessary to take such thoughts "
captive" as soon as you sense them coming on, and give them over to the Lord to deal with ..
2 Corinthians 10:5. If you do not "capture" them in time and you sin, just ask the Lord to forgive you, and knowing that He has, get back to your walk before Him .. cf
Matthew 5:16.

Scripture memorization is what finally freed me from my horrible and painful "thought-life", and got the stinky garbage that I brought along with me from my non-Christian days out of my mind. If you think you'd like to try it, PM me and I'll help you get started if you'd like. BTW, I'm talking about memorizing 1-2 topical verses per week, not the entire NT or Books or Chapters
