You know for some reason I'm not seeing any mention whatsoever of any past Presidential secretaries that lied, too embarrassing maybe?
It's called 'exaggerating facts' when convenient. Which is the standard emanation from the media outlets.

I think if there was any chaos it happened before the election when the FBI was faced with actual violations of US Code statutes reference the Clinton email server. The chaos or disorder for sure resulted in Attorney General Loretta Lynch informing Comey that they would not prosecute and call it a "matter." If that was the context, then sure I can see there was some law and order turmoil.
What I'm getting is that Comey had no business calling a press conference, at least when the investigation was opened briefly just before the election. That's not chaos, it's political controversy and he knew the job was political when he took it. That said, Trump's hyperbolic hand waving about the FBI being in chaos was completely unsubstantiated. Sanders has been pretty good about navigating things like this, if you notice she came on in the wake of the Comey firing. I knew the FBI wasn't in chaos, I do remember her saying she had spoken to 'countless' FBI agents and thought it was a lot of baloney. Her admitting it was a lie just makes me want to put the thing in the fake news file and call it closed. She screwed up, it's as simple as that. At some point you have to take it for what it is and move on. Comey wasn't fired for doing a lousy job, or because the FBI was in chaos. The President didn't like him for some reason and you know what, that's all the reason he needed. He could have fired him for casting aspersions about the chocolate cake they had at dinner and that would have been sufficient cause. Just don't lie about the reason is all I ask.

Grace and peace,
Mark

Just a few moments ago on CBS, Sarah Sanders was asked, on this issue, "Has the president ever asked you to say something that you knew to be untrue?" S.S. responded, "the president has never instructed anyone to break the law.." then went on to be appalled at the notion that president would ask anyone to do anything illegal... which of course was NOT the question asked. She answered it, by refusing to answer it.
It's rather curious, would she have said that “countless” FBI agents had lost confidence in the agency’s leader, if Trump hadn't said it first? No, I doubt Trump made her say that, if he did I'm not sure it's illegal. But it wasn't true and if anything, this exonerates James Comey because the allegation is finally, definitively, been proven false. Comey was being slandered, I didn't care if he was fired, but the reasons were not because the FBI had lost confidence in him, that was a lie.

What are you saying, that Presidential press secretaries have lied to the press? How shocking! They are usually a little better at getting by with it though.

True, some people are very willing to overlook/ignore things that might cause them to question their own decisions/views both past and present.

She had already admitted it was a lie, no need to answer it again. She was being asked something quite different I think...I don't know...I think she answered it alright.

They lie to us Gigimo, we know that, when they get caught doing it they need to clarify what happened and let the chips fall where they may.

Yes, it's called getting to the point. Lead up questions are boring. Get to the brass tacks. That's what she did.

History will not be kind to this President, and it will be particularly critical of those who consider themselves to be conservative Christians, who willingly served as his "enablers!"
Depending on what develops over the next 6 years or so - History may well list President Trump a one of the most effective Presidents in modern times and that in spite of the unprecedented attack he has had to fend off daily for the first part of his tenure.

I know it's an overused term. But the words and actions of certain Dems. and their media allies for the last several years borders on treason. The attempted "overthrow" of a duly elected president is exactly that IMO.

As for those who "consider themselves to be conservative Christians" - they may well go down as some of the most fair minded and politically savvy Christians who ever supported the election of a president.

Conservatives didn't elect a choir boy. Nor did they necessarily do so because he claimed to be brother in Christ. They elected a leader for these difficult times. They got exactly what they voted for.

cult (noun) - a cult is a group of people with extreme dedication to a certain leader or set of beliefs that are often viewed as irrational by others,
- an excessive and misplaced admiration for someone or something, or is something that is popular among a certain segment of society
**************************************************
What we are witnessing is a certain segment of American society that has willingly suspended their ability to think critically and have put their unquestioning faith in a billionaire "narcissist" and "charlatan!"

..or she didn't answer the question she was asked and instead tried to control the narrative in the direction she wanted instead. That way she pretends she's just "anticipating the next question" but is actually avoiding having to answer what was asked. Or put another way: she didn't answer the question.
tulc(is just pointing out her job isn't to do the reporters job as well as hers) :sorry:

The question amounts to “have you stopped beating your dog yet?”

Actually it would be more along the lines of "This portion of the statement you just made doesn't seem to line up with the facts." She then doubled down with "“Look, we’ve heard from countless members of the FBI that say very different things." what portion of that is true and which part is false? Did she hear from "countless" FBI agents expressing distrust for Comey? Or did she simply think none of the reporters were going to pull a "Joe Wilson" on her and scream "You lie!" in the middle of the White House press room even though they knew she was lying?
tulc(is just curious)

I take it that you won't be voting Democrat in 2020.
...this thread isn't really about me. If you'd like to discuss who people are thinking about voting for in 2020 you should start a thread about that where people can discuss it.
tulc(just a suggestion) :)
