For those of you who have the Spiritual gift of healing or know someone who does can you explain this for me. I have known people who have seen this miracle in action and seen people who were told they did not have enough faith to be healed. Had I been one of the latter I would be very sad and asked what I need to do to gain this level of faith.

Using two examples from the scripture can you tell me about the faith of Tabitha in Acts 9:36-41 or the faith of Eutychus in Acts 20:7-10. Does the fact that they were in an upper chamber have anything to do with the miracle? Was their healing based on their faith when Peter or Paul came to them?

(This post has been moved to the Sign Gifts forum. Please keep in mind that the SOP of the forum is that the sign gifts are in force today. Try to confine your replies from the perspective that people are being raised from the dead today through either their faith or the faith of the saint administering the gift.)

Well you know my stance lol. I believe those gifts of the apostles stopped with the apostles. We can now enter into the holy of Holies ourselves because of Jesus Christ and ask for prayer.
Does God heal? Oh you betcha. But He may use Dr's and medicine or He may just answer prayer and heal you. He is a mighty powerful God and can do whatever brings Him the most glory :]

I personally do not know anyone who has this gift. I believe it is rare. I also believe it is always Gods will whether He choose to heal or not. Today we see a lot in the WOF movement that contradicts the will of the Father. This does put the onus on the believer and not on God. In this case it is in error. As far as Tabitha and Eutychus, I am sure they had an abundance of faith however they were both dead so it was the faith of Paul through the will of the Father that brought them back to life.

Yes we can. How would Tabitha or Eutychus do that?

Paul did travel with a doctor so I believe people gain skill to do that through some divine power of God, believers and heathens alike.

I think in most cases that God gives us the strength to deal with the problem (2Cor 12:9).

In my family we have only been healed by faith in the written word of God and the atonement of Jesus.
I know that the gift of healing is real... just never experienced it.
Since healing was provided for all in the atonement, then there is no need to struggle. As Peter quoted from Isaiah 53, "By His stripes ye were healed." it is done. He has healed you. Just stand on that word.
"If we were healed then I am." Understand that this is faith. Faith is the evidence of things not seen. So if you are believing the word for healing... then you may not see it at first. Just hold fast to the confession of your faith. Walk by faith not by sight. It does not look or feel like you are healed... but we start in faith... believing the word regardless of what we feel or look like.
There is nothing wrong with your faith. There is nothing wrong with your spirituality. You are fine. Just stand on the word. Stop disagreeing with what He said. If you disagree with what He said you will get nowhere. He said "by His stripes were healed..."
So we are. Period.

Well the apostle Paul was an apostle lol. He had the gifts and could raise the dead and all.
1 Cor 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:

I believe that most of the statements you have made refer to our healing from the sin disease which is far more important that any simple physical malady. For that healing I have to say aloud "PRAISE GOD!"

Quite so. We were born again. That is true and the most important thing.
But that does not diminish or remove the fact that "by His stripes we were healed. Healing is a redemptive fact. We should not diminish the suffering of Jesus for our healing. He suffered for our health also. It is tantamount to treading the blood and body of Jesus underfoot as if it were a common and meaningless thing. He suffered for me... I praise and thank Him for it.
I do not gaze upon Him as He endured those stripes and say to Him... "Thanks but no thanks Jesus, your suffering means nothing to me. Keep it."
Not very nice.

In the case of the "woman of Canaan" in Matt 15:21-28. Should this be an example of continuing to come to Jesus in faith until you are healed or maybe some condition that needs to be meet before you are healed. It is clear that not only did the apostles but also Jesus ignored her at first.

I believe God works in mysterious ways and absolutely still does miracles but do not believe all the so called healing and miracles by people professing such,,,this one time at work tho,,, Seriously had a no God believing coworker was complaining about her foot issues she plopped her foot up on my desk took her shoe off ewe I know, I touched her scar ewe I know, her foot hasn't hurt her since I often wonder when she will give in and let go to the Lord and how much she thinks of that day.

Since the location of this post has changed it has changed the nature of the post.

Given that there are two direct accounts in scripture of people being raised from the dead I have new questions.

1. Have you witnessed this miracle in action?

2. Would such a miracle as raising someone from the dead grow your faith?

Thank you for your kind response.

Seeing the sick recover when believers lay hands is a sign gift that follows us. We do not drag it along or beg God to do something. We just lay hands on the sick...turn around... and walk away. The sign follows.

I have not seen this happen.
No, it would not incease your faith. Faith does not come that way.Faith comes by revelation and revelation comes by Christ speaking faith into you. Seeing such a miracle might embolden you to hold fast to your profession, and maybe knock down some doubt... but it will not actually increase your faith.

With a response like this "And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord. " it would make sense that this is very needed today. My faith would increase greatly if several people believed in the Lord.

If you want to see His Glory, step out of the boat, lay your hands on the sick," and they shall recover." This you can do(Him in you) you just do not believe it yet. "And greater things than these, will you do."

Yes, as written, I believe you will benefit greatly if or when you meet and remain in fellowship with several people as one, echad, who believe in the Lord. How rare, yes rare,
and beautiful this is , when brethren in union with Jesus and the Father walk together in unity..... (PSALMS) ....

This is also true today as Yahweh directs, and
it is also true today that some "are healed" as soon as they believe, then experience it worked out over a day or more,
often surprising many ....

See online the girl who was 'healed' by Yahweh, quite unexpectedly! when she fell over ten feet INTO A HOLLOW TREE ! ..... healed of a chronic disease that had been getting worse.... suddenly, unexpectedly, it was gone, as a nice gift to her and her family from Yahweh,
and a surprise to all the doctors treating her the previous year and the following year ..... :)
