Do children pay for the sins of the parents?
Sadly, they often do. Examples: the child of a drug addict, the child of someone in a false religious system of which they must participate.

Children suffering for the sins of their forefather, in regards to king David and the House of Judah, is a hard one for me.

God handed to King David the Kingdoms of Israel and Judah, wealth and many wives. King David then commits adultery with Bathsheba and murders her husband Uriah. Then God punishes David by, "Now, therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house". I am thinking this might include even the Holocaust upon the House of Judah. Then God lets David keep Uriah's wife Bathsheba as his own wife? And David keeps his kingship over Israel? And David keeps his wealth. And Bathsheba and David's son Solomon becomes ruler over Israel. One could say that everyone else, but David, suffers for David's sins of murder and adultery.

I don't know, I just do have a hard time understanding God on this issue. I humbly accept God's Will being done here; I simply have had a hard time understanding this.

2 Samuel 12:7 Nathan’s Indictment.
Thus says the LORD God of Israel: I anointed you king over Israel. I delivered you from the hand of Saul. I gave you your lord’s house and your lord’s wives for your own. I gave you the house of Israel and of Judah. And if this were not enough, I could count up for you still more. Why have you despised the LORD and done what is evil in his sight? You have cut down Uriah the Hittite with the sword; his wife you took as your own, and him you killed with the sword of the Ammonites. Now, therefore, the sword shall never depart from your house, because you have despised me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife. Thus says the LORD: I will bring evil upon you out of your own house.

The child was taken from him His son Absolom who was ORIGINALLY slated to be king after David tried to kill David and ended up dying.
David was never the same after this event... I would hardly call that a free pass

We all inherited the sin of Adam. Paul also talks about making gifts in Abraham to the priest of Melchizedek in Hebrews. I think in some mystical way all actions of our ancestors are incorporated into us. But we also inherit their blessings!

What we inherited was a spirit man dead to God. But thanks be to God, and to Jesus Christ who died for us, we can correct that!

As to the question at hand, suppose someone likes to read the horoscope every day. If you asked them, they could say, "oh, I only do it for fun."

What are they really doing? They are putting themselves, their kids, their grand kids and their great grand kids under a curse.

What this may mean, a generation or two latter, a child grows up with all kinds of problems, and they can't figure out what is wrong with this kid.

I had such a child - a boy. He had more trouble that Carter had pills. It turned out to be a spirit of rebellion that called himself "Sagittarius."

"My name is Sagittarius. I am a spirit of rebellion. You can't get me out."

In praying countless hours, I heard this spirit speak and heard these words. And at that time, he was right: I could not get him out.

After much prayer, we were at a meeting, and an acquaintance gave a prophecy over my son: It was as if he knew more about our life than we did! He told us that this spirit got into my son at birth, due to a curse because my father attended a Spiritualist church and dabbled in the Occult. This spirit skipped my generation and went into my son. This prophecy also said the reason I could not get it out, was two reasons: my discipline was too severe and because I would lay hands on him to pray. (A spirit of rebellion always wants to fight when hands are laid on!)

The prophecy continued: I was to just set back and let God do it - with no one touching him. In five minutes the spirit was gone. From that day my son was never the same - never rebellious, and always did his homework. Before that day, the ONLY way I could get him do to homework, was if I did it with him. Thank God for true prophecy, and thank God for the power of the Holy Spirit to cast out devils.

It is VERY DANGEROUS to dabble in the occult!

The TRUTH? Sometimes children do pay a price for the sins of their fathers.

Whenever I see a autobiography of some popular psychic medium that supposedly talks to the dead, I pick it up and read a little of their background. In every case, some mother or grandmother has dabbled in the occult, hosting seances or tarot card readings. Most of these "psychics" have had their "gifts" since childhood, confirming this curse has been passed down generationally.

Yes that was the scripture which had sparked my question but not understanding this part. The words "for those who hate me" also confuses me for we all sin but we don't hate God so why would he punish our Kids for our sins? Also that scripture I think was only referencing the worshipping of other Gods and not us making mistakes.
What does the Bible say about breaking generational curses?

Does a son bear any responsibility for the sins of the father?

Answer: Ezekiel 18 makes it clear that God holds each individual responsible for his or her own sin. Verses 1 through 4 say, “The word of the Lord came to me: ‘What do you people mean by quoting this proverb about the land of Israel: “The parents eat sour grapes, and the children’s teeth are set on edge”? As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, you will no longer quote this proverb in Israel. For everyone belongs to me, the parent as well as the child—both alike belong to me. The one who sins is the one who will die.’”

When children follow in the footsteps of an unGodly parent the sin of the parent becomes their sin. God isn't cursing children because of their parents, grandparents, etc.

Yes, since we are all connected to the Body of Christ, all our sins affect each other. In a stronger sense, the sins of you father can affect you personally. But if I recall, in Sirach somewhere, it gives the opposite of of the Exodus case and it says one thousand generations.

But God still curses this way. In the most abundant example is when parents contracept, the first fruits of that is disobediant children, fighting, etc.

Another verse to consider is:
Rev 2:21 And I gave her a time that she might do penance, and she will not repent of her fornication. 22 Behold, I will cast her into a bed: and they that commit adultery with her shall be in very great tribulation, except they do penance from their deeds. 23And I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the reins and hearts, and I will give to every one of you according to your works. But to you I say,
Clearly, this was a curse for the children that died.
