As a Christian who believes what they are told that God is listening and just can't wait to help you, of course frustration should not be the feeling because God is God! He can do anything! That Christian goes on waiting and waiting and waiting. Prays again, maybe saying things a little different. Maybe that Christian thinks God is busy with others and he waits and waits some more. The waiting turns into weeks, months, years while things get worse. Then it hits you...God isn't going to help. You've been deceived by what you've been told. God can answer prayer and there are long ago examples of that in His word but that was "then" and this is "now". He's turned His back on us and has left us to fend for ourselves. That's the point nobody wants to even think about yet the evidence is all around us.
Having Doubts and misunderstandings is very much normal.
We knew very little about God's word before we became Christians. Growing in God is a learning process and some of that process can be painful and confusing. How we fair can be a mixture of how good the teaching is we are exposed to and the example set by our leaders, how good we are at listening, and how much effort we ourselves put in.
But...
I'm am going to have to side with those who said you have lack of Faith. That can be down to a number of reasons. Also discussing it on a Forum instead of taking it to God says much about your prayer life too. Yes - God can answer your questions and show you how things work. And Finally, passing the doubt on to others is generally spreading doubt and knocking everyone else who also has low faith.
Try working for a company and spread some negativity about the management and see how the boss feels about it. The problem is your perspective or lack of it.
John 16:9
The world’s sin is unbelief in me
John 16:9
I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not heal him.” 17“O unbelieving and perverse generation!” Jesus replied. “How long must I remain with you? How long must I put up with you? Bring the boy here to Me.
Even the Disciples had their lack of faith moments so we can be accepting of ours.
But..they went on to learn the lessons and become winners !
QUESTION
If God didn't Intervene with the problem family ( after prayer ) then maybe you have to do it yourself ( directly or indirectly ) Someone does have to do it - so why not you? Are prayers just a means of passing the buck and not taking responsibility yourself?
A story comes to mind...
Jacob and his family are in the land of canaan and there is a famine. Jacob waits until they have run out of food before sending his sons to Egypt. Why did he wait until the last minute ? Was he expecting God to turn up at the last minute and provide food for his family? He was eventually forced to send them to Egypt to get food. The story goes on to show that this was all in God's plan since Joseph was still alive in Egypt and he was to provide food for them during the famine.
Was Jacob acting on presumptuous faith by waiting to the very last minute before acting or was it a lack of taking responsibility for the problem ? The latter is poor leadership.
God's plan was for him to go to Egypt. He was not aware of that plan.
