There are 6 things that must be accomplished by the 70 "sevens"
Daniel 9:24 Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to 1.) finish d transgression, 2.) to put an end to sin, 3.) to atone for wickedness, 4.) to bring in everlasting righteousness, 5.) to seal up vision and prophecy and 6.) to anoint the Most Holy Place. e
Looking at number 2.) to put and end to sin. Christ accomplished this at the cross:
Daniel 9:26 But he has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself.
The greek word for "do away" is: athétēsis – properly, annulment (cancellation), i.e. what is rendered "no longer in effect" (literally, "no longer having a place"). See 114 (atheteō).
Therefore Christ "cancelled/made longer in effect" sin by his sacrifice on the cross
By the cross, Christ has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.
Hebrews 10:14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.
Looking at number 3.) to atone for wickedness. Christ accomplished this at his death, resurrection, and ascension.
Hebrews 2:17 For this reason he had to be made like them, k fully human in every way, in order that he might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that he might make atonement for the sins of the people.
Christ was cut off AFTER 7+62 weeks:
Daniel 9:26 AFTER the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing
If there is gap between the 69th and 70th week, then Jesus was crucified, not within the 70 weeks, but in a gap OUTSIDE of the 70 prophetic weeks. And if Christ was crucified in the gap, then "to put an end to sin" and "atone for wickedness" were accomplished in the gap and not during any of the 70 prophetic weeks.
Therefore, to insert a gap between the 69th and 70th week falsifies Daniel 9:24.
