Yom Kippur is like the final act on the stage both in heaven and on earth.. as it is in heaven so it is on earth....Tonight is a solemn night,.. the holiest of holy nights when God opens up the books of our lives... Blood splattered pages reveal Yeshua, our High Priest's work of mediation on our behalf... Pages where we got on our knees and repented with the sincerity of our heart, totally with eyes open to the deprivation of heart and the wickedness within that we have fought so hard with the Lord to cleanse. As it is in the sanctuary service, this is the time where it is to be banished forever off our hearts, minds, and off the record books of heaven with the blotting our of our sins. United with our Lord we pray for this cleansings of cleansing and purification that last not only for this day but forever.

The court will be in session, until Final Yom Kippur has ended and at that point the books of life are closed. Cases are closed, and on that great day when the appointed time for Yom Kippur to be no longer a rehearsal but a reality, all humanities, dead or alive, cases will be judged, found either wanting or redeemed. Our Lord will leave the Heavenly Temple for His job is completed as our High Priest. That is why scripture can say “And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.” Revelation 15:8

The place of His sanctuary, which is our minds, will be cast down, polluted and need serious cleansing. Good thing that Yeshua cleansed the temple at the start of His ministry and then again at the end of His earthly ministry, which mean He will also do it for you. During the Feast of Trumpets come all the last warnings that this world will receive before the plagues fall. [1] In Yeshua’s ministry you will find there the promise that He will cleanse His temple twice.

At the start when you first gave your heart to Yeshua and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit which is the first cleansing. So your first cleansing of your temple by Yeshua through the Holy Spirit starts your journey with Him. At the end, with what is called the latter rain there will be a greater baptism called the Baptism of Fire. In order to understand the third baptism which is of fire, you need to understand that God is a consuming fire. Sin is consumed, and if the sinner is still entangled in the sin, he too will be consumed.[2] In that day, when the Lord returns, if you are not prepared to stand before God, the consuming fire, then “ As smoke is driven away, so drive them away: as wax melted before the fire, so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.”[3]

If you are prepared to stand before God, washed by the blood of the Lamb, baptized by the Holy Spirit, living the new life found in Messiah, prepared by His Word for this day because you have been baptized with fire, you will be changed from mortal to immortal to live with the Lord for all eternity when He returns to gather you home.[4]

Sanctification can be found in the Day of Atonement as the process by which God does the final purification of the believer. Sanctification’s first start in the believer’s new life is at the sacrificial death of Yeshua. Apostle Paul noted that God has chosen and reconciled you to Himself in Yeshua for the purpose of sanctification, that you could be holy and blameless before God and zealous of good works. [1] Old Testament sacrifices did not take away sin, but they offered the symbolism and procedure of sanctification for the purifying of the flesh.[2]

The blood of the new covenant, however, goes far beyond this ritual on the purification of the body. It is where the reality of what Yeshua has done for you should not be cast aside or treated lightly. It is the most important aspect of sanctification in the heavenly sanctuary and your salvation is something you should not treat so lightly. [3]

The offering of Yeshua’s body and blood serves make a way for purging our conscience from “dead works to serve the living God”.[4] Because our cleansing from sin is made possible only by Yeshua’s death and resurrection, you are “sanctified in Messiah Yeshua”.[5]

Sanctification is God’s Work. You are sanctified by the work of all three working in our lives. You are sanctified by God the Father[6], by God the Son[7], and by God the Holy Spirit.[8]

So what is all these sanctification processes suppose to do for you or to you? Sanctification is a process that continues during your life as a believer. Until the last generation, where those who are alive and awaiting the Lord’s return, it has been that only after death, are the saints referred to as “perfect”.[9]

But this is not the way it will always be. In the last days, God’s people will be walking talking images of Yeshua and considered “perfect” in God’s eyes. Sanctification involves the believers in the process and as a responsibility as commanded in the Bible. You are commanded to be holy; to be perfect and to present your members as slaves of righteousness for holiness and purity as it is the Will of God.[10]

I believe just as Passover went from just a feast God wanted you to participate in to the reality in Yeshua as our Lamb of God, so also will Yom Kippur be Yeshua's most important role in our redemption. Feast of Trumpets marks the beginning of a ten day countdown to the Day of Atonement. Because the Day of Atonement is judgment day, the feast of trumpets is sounded as a reminder that judgment is very near and the time for repentance is short.[1]

Our God is gracious and merciful, full of forgiveness, very slow to anger, even repents Himself of the justice the sinner deserves if they would just tear open their heart and start a new life in Him. [2] Many have heard Joel 2:13 over and over again, but this time read it with the understanding the kingdom of heaven is truly at hand. You are at the door of eternity. You are soon to be at the end of this earth’s history. You are soon to see Yeshua come in the clouds of glory with the entire Heavenly Host with Him. [3] I often wonder just how many realize just how close it is now more than ever.

Silence was kept by the congregation on Day of Atonement during to time when the High Priest was in the most holy.[1] Here you see a reference to silence during the time when God is raised up in the Most Holy Place to wed/choose/receive the inheritance/bride/believers that which is perfect in Yeshua. This time of silence is the very time when the New/Eternal Covenant is ratified and you wait until King Yeshua emerges to claim His inheritance.[2]
The reason you are most familiar with it is that it is on this day that Divine Justice is soon to be meted out to all individuals and to all nations. It is the date on which the cases of all of God's creatures come up before the Heavenly Court for a ten-day "trial" beginning on Feast of Trumpets, which is the first day of the Ten Days of Repentance, and climaxing on the Tenth of Tishri with the Day of Atonement, Day of Atonement, when the fate of each one is sealed. These ten days could be like the test that Daniel experienced as he continued to live as God wanted in the face of Babylon ways. [3]

The Holy of Holies was never entered into except for this one day out of the entire year. In the Holy of Holies was the Ark of the Covenant and enthroned between the Cherubim on the Ark was the manifest presence of God. God was in that room!

Somehow the Almighty, Infinite God, the King of Universe himself had taken up residence inside that room. To enter was to literally be in the presence of God. Once a year, on the holiest day of the year, the holiest man in the world had to enter the holiest place in the world. He had to enter into the presence of the Holy, Holy, Holy, and Lord of Hosts.

Before entering the Holy of Holies, the High Priest immersed himself and put on simple, white, linen garments. Then with two handfuls of incense and glowing coals on ladles the altar, he entered. He effected atonement for Israel and the Tabernacle through a complex series of blood rituals and sin offerings.[1]

In these rituals, he carried the blood of the sin offerings into the Holy of Holies and splashed it seven times on the Ark of the Covenant, then seven times on the curtain which divided the Holy of Holies from the rest of the Tabernacle and finally seven times on the altar of incense which stood before the curtain. These rituals were intended to provide the necessary covering of blood atonement for everything to do with the temple and its services.

The first Day of Atonement took place after Moses returned from his second trip to Mt. Sinai with the replacement set of tablets containing the Ten Commandments. He had broken the original set when he returned the first time to discover the children of Israel worshiping a golden calf rather than God, who brought them out from Egypt.

Moses successfully pleaded with God on their behalf and this would have been the first atonement for the people. He also ascended the mountain for a second set of tablets. In Moses' absence, the nation fasted from sunrise to sunset. Moses descended the mountain on the tenth of Tishri. Upon returning, Moses found the nation truly repentant and announced that God had forgiven them. He decreed that the tenth of Tishri would remain a day of atonement for all generations. In order to receive an inheritance, you must be taken back into the God’s fold, if you do not meet with the Lord at His appointed time, how can you receive the blessing?[2]

The sins are atoned for only on the Day of Atonement. Atoned as in purged, gone off the record books of Life.[3] You know that in the book of Hebrews the work that Yeshua is doing in the heaven has been towards the final atonement work.[4] You know that in Revelation is the effects of the atonement of Yeshua in the heaven at work and you will see its effect upon the world.

The 10 Days of Awe (Feast of Trumpets) are a time of deep introspection, reflection, and contemplation leading up to the actual Day of Atonement, which is itself the most solemn of all the days on the Jewish calendar! In fact, this day, the Day of Atonement, though called a "Feast" day, is actually a day of Fasting and humiliation, a day in which they are commanded to "deny" themselves (in fasting and in refraining from all pursuits of pleasure and gratification.) [1] It is called a lasting ordinance because when it is fulfilled the effect will not be like with earthly priests who had to do it every year, it will be done once by Yeshua as our High Priest and its effect will last you all eternity.[2]

In discussing the Day of Atonement it is helpful to accurately define the word "Atonement." Atonement does not mean forgiveness of sin. It is from the Hebrew word kaphar which means, "Covering". This is the one day a year when the High Priest is to create a covering for Israel, separating the sin from the sinner forever. This covering, is the robe of righteousness, that fine linen you have been looking for. This is the wedding day when Yeshua will marry His bride.

The sense in which the word is used is as a covering-protection from danger. The idea is that God is dangerous, as a consuming fire, sin does burn up, melt like wax. If common, mortal, finite and sinful man is to enter the presence of the Holy, Immortal, Infinite and Righteous God, the man must be covered (i.e. atoned for) or he will be consumed and destroyed by the presence of God.

For example, Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden enjoyed the presence of God. They walked with him daily in the garden. Then they sinned. Their eyes were opened and they immediately realized that they were naked. They immediately realized that they were which covering. Instinctively they began to try to sew fig leaves together to cover themselves because they knew God was coming, and they knew they could no longer withstand his presence. They could not enter his presence which covering. Their effort to cover themselves, however, was futile; so when they heard God's voice and knew that he was entering the garden, they hid themselves. They could not come face to face with him.

After judging them, the book of Genesis tells you, that God made garments of skin to cover them. Thus the story of the fall of man leaves you with your first glimpse of atonement. God kills an animal to cover Adam and Eve. It is the first record of death in the creation, and it is a sacrifice meant for a covering. According to tradition, Feast of Trumpets is the anniversary of their creation. Is it possible that 10 days later was the day they sinned?

After Israel sinned by making the golden calf, Moses ascended Mount Sinai to interceding for them. God was ready to destroy Israel; He was unwilling to even let His presence be among them. He said, "I will send an angel with Israel, but I cannot go with you or I might break out against you and destroy you." [1]

Because of the sin of the calf, Israel found herself unprotected. She has no covering. She is in danger from the presence of God. But Moses says to Israel, "Perhaps I can make atonement for your sin.”[2].

He fasts for forty days and nights, and then goes back up the mountain with the two new tablets. The two tablets are meant to replace the ones he broke when he saw the calf. He goes back up the mountain; back up into the presence of God. On the mountain Moses implores God for mercy and requests to be shown all of God's glory. Is that what the two witnesses being doing for us?

The Second Time Moses, with the Ten Commandments, comes down from Mount Sinai; God makes a new covenant with Israel. When the people see Moses, his face is radiating brilliance from being in the presence of God. Moses achieved covering for Israel's sin. According to Jewish tradition, the day Moses came down from Mount Sinai was in the fall at the time of fall feasts.

The picture of Moses in his second coming is startlingly messianic. On Moses' first trip down the mountain out of the presence of God, the tablets were broken. Like Yeshua himself, the Word was broken for the sin of the people. After this initial descent down the mountain, Moses returned to the God. He went back into the very presence of God to make atonement, to effect a new covenant, to reveal the true and very Essence of God. He was able to reveal the full extent of God's mercy and grace. These things accomplished, he then returned, bearing the New Covenant in his arms. He came down from the Father in splendor, in glory, in brilliance, terrible to behold.

On the Biblical calendar, the tenth day of the seventh month is the appointment known as Day of Atonement. The Day of Atonement is the Holiest day of the Biblical year. It is a day of intense prayer, fasting and calling out to God for mercy and grace. It is a day for doing business with God. It is a day for coming face to face with God. You can see an intersection of three Holies. On the Day of Atonement, the Holiest man in the world (the High Priest of Israel) goes into the Holiest Place in the world (the holy of holies) on the Holiest Day of the year (the day of Day of Atonement). Let’s not take this lightly as others have died from assuming that this can be done in any manner. [1]

You seem to be saying that Atonement is at some future date but if that is true then why does the writer of Hebrews say:
Heb 1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

And this:
Heb 10:12-14 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; (13) From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. (14) For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

It sounds like it has been accomplished.

"when" is a time frame...."after" is also a sequence in the time frame... "Offered one sacrifice", I believe happened when He presented Himself to the after at First Fruits.. "purge our sins" is more of an atonement even as it is the same as "cleansing the sanctuary" which is performed during the atonement.

IN the sanctuary services, the daily sacrifices, the Lamb of God sacrifice on Passover, and the atonement sacrifice with the cleansing of the sanctuary all play different roles in the Feasts, all with different implications in the process of dealing with sin. The final dealing with sin comes in the atonement process where it is cleansed out of the sanctuary and laid on the head of the scapegoat showing that sin can be removed, by this process.

We have in Revelation the casting out of Satan and His crew in a mighty battle and I believe, it relates to this cleansing process in heaven. As it is in heaven it is on earth. That is why the last battle is on earth, where the sin will be finally eradicated from God's people for ever.

“Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom you seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom you delight in: behold, he shall come, said the LORD of hosts. But who may abide the day of his coming? And who shall stand when he appeared? for he is like a refiner's fire, and like fullers' soap:

And he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness. Then shall the offering be pleasant unto the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years. And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger from his right, and fear not me, said the LORD of hosts. For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore you sons of Jacob are not consumed. Even from the days of your fathers you are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept them. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, said the LORD of hosts.[1]

Just like it is in the services, when two identical goats are brought before the congregation, and one is chosen for the scapegoat, so also will you chose to sacrifice the one who is chosen for God and lay the sins of the whole world on the Satan. [1] In making atonement for himself, the High Priest symbolic was representing Yeshua who is our High Priest who will purge us of all our sins.[2] That particular verse in Isaiah 22:14 talks about those dead before the purging occurs in the Great Day of Atonement. [3] Purging obviously occurs for both inside and outside the believer’s community; it will have the desired effect among the community of believers while it does not work on others.[4]

This will be the time when the wheat and the chaff will be separated by God forever.[5] Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.[6] This work is His, for by Himself he will purge our sins, by the work of the Holy Spirit, and they shall be cleansed out of our nature, out of our hearts, and out of our lives.[7] How much more shall the blood of Yeshua, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself which spot to God, purge you from dead works to serve the living God? Wouldn’t you like it when you have "...no more conscienceness of sins"[8] because you do not sin anymore. You know that this has yet to occur for you all are still very conscience of our sins and sinfulness and the need for redemption process provided by Yeshua.[9] Then you once have been purged once for all time, you will live as He lives without sin. The day will come when Yeshua will not longer offer salvation and it is because there is no more need.[10] But I must warn you that if you lack this understanding then you are blind.

You might even forget that you were purged of your old sins and fall again back to the old habits. You can not look forward to His second coming with sins on your soul. [11] "For the law having a shadow of good thing to come and not the very image of the things, can never ....make the comers there unto perfect....because that the worshipers once purged should have no more conscience of sins"

The work of the High Priest (Yeshua) is on the perfecting of the saints to sin no more, to be in perfect harmony with the will and word of God. "For by one offering he has perfected for ever them that are sanctified....Now where remission of these is, there is not more offering for sin" [12]So when the Day of Atonement is over in heaven there is no more offering for sin, judgment comes (the plagues), and the end of the world.[13]

The Day of Atonement is the final purge of sin from heaven, and there will be no more dealing with sin in heaven. "...there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying "It is done." [1]Yeshua will no longer make intercession, dealing with sin is over, it is done. Remember during the plague, it says over and over again, and they repented not...to give him glory...or...of their deeds. [2]
