Hebrews 12:18 - Revelation 8:8 "mountain of fire burning, cast into the sea, trumpet blast"

but even-ever to the mountain, this, ye may be saying, 'Be being lifted up! and be being cast! into the sea,
it shall be becoming"

While working on another thread concerning Matt 21:21 [mountain lifted and cast into the sea], I noticed a similar event in Revelaton 8:8 concerning a "burning mountain cast into the sea".

I am beginning to become to believe that the Mountain of fire mentioned in Revelation 8:8 may perhaps be symbolizing OC Mt Sinai. Thoughts?

Hebrews 12

For ye have not come to a mountain that can be touched and to a blazing fire, and to darkness and gloom and whirlwind,

and to the blast of a trumpet and the sound of words which sound was such that those who heard begged that no further word be spoken to them.

Revelation 8:8
And the second Messenger trumpets,
and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea:
and the third part of the sea became blood;

And then we have Exodus and Deuteronomy:

Deuteronomy 4:11
and ye draw near and stand under the mountain,
and the mountain is burning with fire unto the heart of the heavens -- darkness, cloud, yea, thick darkness:
Exodus 19:16
Then it came to pass on the third day, in the morning, that there were thunderings and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain;
and the sound of the trumpet was very loud, so that all the people who were in the camp trembled.
Exodus 20:18
Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking;
and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off.

And opened was the sanctuary of God in the heaven, and there was seen the ark of His covenant in His sanctuary, and there did come lightnings, and voices, and thunders, and an earthquake, and great hail.
Rev 16:18
and there came voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and a great earthquake came, such as came not since men came upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake -- so great!

Interesting. It's a lot to bite off for me, but I'm in that area of Revelation this week and I need to go back over it with this in mind. The mountain = Old Covenant (Sinai) makes sense.

I strongly agree.
I am going to look at that mountain in Revelation 8:8 in more detail.

I find this rather astounding.

The phrase "Mount Sinai" is used in only 4 verses! of the NT, Acts 7 and Galatians 4:

“And when forty years had passed, an Angel of the Lord[fn] appeared to him in a flame of fire in a bush, in the wilderness of Mount Sinai.

Revelation 8:8

Strong's Number G4537 matches the Greek σαλπίζω (salpizō),
which occurs 13 times in 12 verses

10 of those in Revelation [including 7 with exact word matches]

The other 2 places are in:

The equivalent hewbrew word for trumpet is:

Strong's Number H7782 matches the Hebrew שׁוֹפָר (showphar),
which occurs 72 times in 63 verses

Now this absolutely floored me! It is mind boggling. Oh, the might of His Word!

Only in Joshua and Revelation is the phrase "7 trumpets" mentioned:

Joshua 6
4 Have seven Priests carry seven trumpets of rams' horns in front of the Ark.
Then on the seventh day, march around the city seven times, while the Priests blow the trumpets.
