In this verse, it seems that God is actually encouraging Iran to attack Israel. It’s like Clint Eastwood saying; C’mon, make my day!

Do not doubt, Iran will attempt to carry out its threats to annihilate Israel. They will do this for several reasons:

1/ The Islamic leadership of Iran is in trouble, the Iranian people no longer support their incompetent and repressive rule.

2/ The Mullah’s believe it is their destiny to bring about the advent of the 12th Imam, the Islamic Mahadi.

3/ The economy is in a shambles, partly due to the sanction imposed because of their nuclear program and to mismanagement and corruption.

4/ A scapegoat is needed to divert the attention of the people and note the rhetoric of Ayatollah Khomeini; ‘We do not worship Iran, we worship Allah. For patriotism is another name for paganism. I say let this land burn, let this land go up in smoke, provided Islam emerges triumphant’. Quote 1980

And Ahmadinejad said: ‘Israel will cease to exist, we will remove the cancer from our midst’. This remains the case now, in 2018 and Iran just waits for the opportune moment to commence their attack on Israel. That moment will be God’s Appointed Day, Habakkuk 2:3, Revelation 6:12-17

5/ But Bible prophesy is the best indication we have that very soon Iran and all the Islamic peoples: Psalms 83:6-8, will commence their attack on Israel.

Isaiah 21:2b...Advance Elam, up Media: To the siege! Do not hesitate!

Isaiah 22:6 Elam took up the quiver, the war chariots of Aram are readied and Kir has uncovered the shield.

Isaiah 22:8a The heart of Judah’s defenses are laid open.

Jeremiah 49:35-39 I shall break the bow of Elam, the chief weapon of their might. I shall bring the four winds against them and will scatter them. I will terrify Elam before their foes and bring evil upon them, in My fierce anger, I will consume them with My sword until I have made an end to them. Then I shall set My throne in Elam and destroy their rulers and officers. Yet, in days to come I will restore the fortunes of Elam.

Ezekiel 7:14 The war trumpet has sounded and all are ready, but no war happens, as their actions have instigated the wrath of the Lord. Ref: REB, verses abridged.

Elam and Media: now Iran. Aram: now Syria. Kir: probably Iraq or Turkey.

Judah’s defenses laid open – This may refer to Isaiah 21:2a, how a traitor will betray Israel and possibly the loss of their good leadership, as per Isaiah 3:1-7, Micah 5:1

I shall break the bow of Elam, their chief weapon. - Their nuke weapons are destroyed. Psalms 7:12-16, Hosea 2:18, Jeremiah 49:35

The Lord’s anger will consume them. – As described in Psalms 83:13-17... the Lord’s enemies will be scattered like chaff, with blazing flames and tempests of storm winds, they will suffer disgrace and perish. Zephaniah 1:14-18, Ezekiel 30:1-5
The strongholds of Islam will be destroyed, it and the other false religions will be no more. Isaiah 66:15-17, Hebrews 10:27

The wrath of the Lord – This will be the great and terrible Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath, a comprehensively prophesied judgement by fire, described to us as an explosion on the suns surface, a Coronal Mass Ejection . It will literally fulfil the Sixth Seal and the 100+ prophesies about that Day; resulting in the fulfilment of the punishment of all the nations. Habakkuk 3:12, Psalms 2:8-9, 2 Peter 3:7

Isaiah 19:1-4 The Lord comes swiftly on the clouds and He descends upon Egypt. The Egyptians will fight one another and their courage will fail. Egypt’s leaders will be confused and will resort to divination for advice, but a harsh leader will rule over them.
This is not Jesus Returning, but the Lord’s Day of vengeance and wrath, where He ‘comes in fire, covered by thick vapor’. Psalms 11:4-6, Psalms 18:7-15, Revelation 6:12-17

Isaiah 19:5-17 The Nile will dry up, all who rely on it will be in dire distress. Zechariah 10:11 Egypt’s wise men have no idea what the Lord has planned for them, they have a spirit of misjudgment and there is nothing anyone can do. When that Day comes, the Egyptians will be terror stricken. The very mention of Israel will cause panic.

Isaiah 19:18-22 In Egypt there will be five cities that trust the Lord, those people who speak the ancient language. [Coptic Christians] One is called Heliopolis. When that Day comes, there will be an altar to the Lord in Egypt and a sacred pillar as a reminder to Him, when they appeal to the Lord for rescue. The Lord will make Himself known to the Egyptians and they will acknowledge and worship Him. When they turn back to the Lord, He will respond and heal them.

Isaiah 19:23-25 When that Day comes, a highway will link up Egypt and Assyria. Israel, Egypt and Assyria will be as three parts in the world. The Lord will bless Egypt, His people, Assyria, My handiwork, and Israel, My possession.

Ezekiel 29:8-12 The Lord says; I am bringing My judgement on you to destroy both people and animals. Egypt will become a desolate waste, because you think that you control the Nile. I am against you and your river, all your land will be wasted by drought and will be uninhabited for forty years. The Egyptian people will scatter throughout the world. Not happened as yet.

Ezekiel 29:13-16 The Lord says; At the end of their forty years, I shall gather the Egyptians from their dispersion. They will be an insignificant nation, never again to rule over other peoples. The Israelites will always keep in mind their sin of trusting Egypt, instead of their God.

Ezekiel 30:1-9 Wail! Alas for the Day, it is near – the Day of the Lord’s reckoning for the nations. A sword will come upon Egypt, and there will be disaster in the surrounding nations, when He kills the Egyptians and destroys their land. All the Arab lands will fall along with Egypt. The pride in their power: of them all, will be brought down. When I set Egypt on fire and all her helpers are shattered, they will know that I am the Lord. When that Day comes, messengers will go out in ships, that will strike terror into these peoples, in the hour of Egypt’s destruction.
FOR LO, THE DAY COMETH! Ref: REB, NIV, KJV. Some verses abridged.

None of these prophesies have been fulfilled as yet. Ezekiel 30:10-26 goes on to describe the historical conquest of Egypt by Nebuchadrezzar.

This great Day of the Lord’s vengeance and wrath, prophesied over one hundred times in the Bible, will come and is the next prophesied event in our world. It will strike in the form of a Coronal Mass Ejection, an explosion on the sun’s surface, that will affect the whole world, but mostly those nations and entities that instigate an attack on Israel. Psalms 83:1-18, Micah 4:11-12, Amos 1:1-15

Jeremiah 17:15-18 People say: Where is the fulfilment of God’s Word? Let it come, if it can! It isn’t just the prospect of the coming disaster that makes me follow the Lord. I do not wish for Your judgement, You know all my thoughts and desires. On that evil day, be my refuge, may my persecutors be confounded, may they, not I be terrified. Bring onto Your enemies Your Day of vengeance and destroy them utterly.

Psalms 2:1-4 He who sits enthroned in Heaven, laughs at the wicked who conspire against Him and His people. Angrily, He rebukes them with His wrath.

Acts 13:40-41 Beware lest you bring down upon yourselves the doom prophesied. Understand this and perish, you despisers of the truth, for I am doing a deed in your days, a deed that you will not believe when you are told of it.

Jeremiah 25:30-38 The Lord roars from on high, He thunders from His dwelling place, against His Land and those who dwell in it. This great noise reaches to the ends of the earth, for The Lord brings judgement to all the nations and indeed to all mankind. The godless and evil will be fuel for the fire. Ruin spreads around the world from this mighty tempest and those killed on that Day will lie scattered as dung upon the earth. Cry out, you leaders and shepherds of My people for this is your time to go to the slaughter, you cannot flee from the Lord’s fierce anger.

Jeremiah 4:23-28 I looked at the earth, it was in chaos, reeling to and fro, in darkness. Nobody could be seen and the land was a desolate wilderness, the towns ruined and deserted, because of the fierce anger of the Lord. The whole world will be affected but not completely destroyed. The earth will be in mourning for this. I have made known My purpose, I will not relent or change it.

Jeremiah 10:17-18 My people, gather up your goods and flee the country, for you are living under siege. The Lord says: This time, I shall throw out the whole population of the Land. I shall press them and squeeze them dry. Jeremiah 12:14

Isaiah 26:20-21 Go, My people enter your rooms and shut the door after you, withdraw for a little while, until the Lord’s wrath has passed. The Lord is coming from His dwelling place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their sins, it will hide its transgressions no more.

Jeremiah 29:11-14 I alone, know My purpose for you, it is wellbeing and not misfortune, for you and your descendants. If you call Me and pray to Me, I shall listen to you. When you seek Me, you shall find Me, if you search wholeheartedly, I will let you find Me, says the Lord. I shall restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have banished you and then I will restore you to the place from where you went into exile. Ref: REB, NIV, KJV. Some verses abridged.

The Lord has ‘made known His purpose’, that is to bring disaster onto the godless and the enemies of His people. This coming terrible Day of judgement will ‘affect the whole world’ and millions will die from the effects of the huge CME sunstrike that he will use. The Middle East will be cleared and cleansed and His Christian people who listened to His warnings and kept safe under shelter, will repopulate the Holy Land.
As so clearly stated in Ezekiel 20:34-38: all the faithful Israelites of God will gather and live again in all that Land promised to Abraham. They live in peace and prosperity, in the new country of Beulah, Isaiah 62:1-5, sending out 144,000 missionaries to proclaim the coming Kingdom of Jesus.
