• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Jesus Christ Loved Judas the betrayer Truly. (Written by Rabbi James)

MATTHEW 26:1-75

This chapter deals with Yeshua's final days with his talmidim on earth, His anointing by the generous woman who poured the “nard” perfume on him, the betrayal by “Y'hudah Ish Kariot” (Judas, the man from the region of Kariot) in every group of disciples, there are always a few who are “fakers” We have the final “Pesach” dinner with his disciples and Kefa's denial,

But there is a lot we can learn from this, Peter denied knowing Yeshua, out of fear, but Judas openly rejected him by identifying him by a kiss on the cheek. Both sins forgivable, the only difference is that Peter confessed and received forgiveness, while Judas felt remorse, but did not cry out for forgiveness, but went out and committed suicide. There is a sin that leads to remorse and a “feeling sorry for oneself” and sin that leads to remorse, and from remorse to confession, and from confession to forgiveness, and from forgiveness to restored fellowship. How many readers out there have chosen the later? We are all sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God, but the confession of sins, and receiving forgiveness is something only you can do, I cannot do it for you. Yeshua receives ALL who come to him, no matter how bad or evil you have been, nor what you have done, no sin is beyond forgiveness. Just ask, and turn from your sin, and forgiveness and restoration are yours.

That is the ultimate clue isn't it brother to turn away from your sin - time and again? While trying never again to entertain sin again but rather suffer sin with tears of remorse, repentance, grace and forgiveness.

For isn't it true brother that there is a lot of difference between those times we enjoy doing wrong, over against the times we suffer the wrong we are stuck with?

i know when we suffer our wrongdoing then the wrong will die and liberation will come, sooner or later, but liberation will come. Sometimes we suffer with a sin for a long time because we have sinned more than once and have to die from famine and thirst in our willful sinner self, rather than made able to lay down or lives voluntary and so be saved in such parts of ourselves. Willful sin or when we enjoy sinful wrong gets washed off big time at the end of sins ride - Revelation 14:14-20 - that is the good part of being saved - old sin stop, die and go away.

Though as we both know new sin does still spring to life, the good news is, that in those new sins we can still be saved. And so God turns our dirt of heart into a productive garden of Eden. For faith in God's love brings us hope and hope in God does not disappoint us ever, i know to be true about all that.

That His Grace be upon us all and in our all!

Peace.

So be kind to everyone sincerely, including deceitful believers, deceitful self. But only truth can make love flowing, and make the deceitful sins pass away. Suffering for the sins is just the chance to leave the sins. And suffering for righteousness is a signal that one is separated from sins. This is an Armor.

【1Peter3:9】Do not repay evil for evil or abuse for abuse; but, on the contrary, repay with a blessing. It is for this that you were called-- that you might inherit a blessing.
【1Peter4:1】Since therefore Christ suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same intention (for whoever has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin),

Peace, brother,

It can be so very hard to love in an often loveless world. A world where people take advantage of others and promise things they don't keep. So few people are truly trustworthy. So many people and yet a lot of them can not be counted on to love you back.

Is it worth loving them?

It is so worth loving those who don't deserve it for that is how we understand the length of love our Heavenly Father and Brother go with people who reject and despise them yet they bring such people His good life day after day. And not only that true love never bounces of those cold hearts but cuts either way! So in a way you can literally love an enemy to death after which that enemy will love you instead of hate you. Even when people hardening their hearts against true love they are harvested by God's angels as they die to good life doing that. So whatever way it goes up or down we have Victory assured.

Not many people realise that the biggest advantage of loving true is the peace that dwells inside such a person. Where even the hurt of rejection bears good fruits because we understand that they crucified Jesus and are honoured to hang beside Him, be it figuratively. Everything works for good for those who love Him is truly a wonderful promise coming our way when we love our God - our neighbour - as well as ourselves.

It is for us to be careful with whom we walk. If our own will needs to be done then we know that we err, if love's will be done than we will have victory sooner or later. It is inevitable we bump into Him when we love true and He will bless us on our way.

Those doubting unbelieving, distrusting, fearful, angry, hateful, hurtful, lonely, hopeless, empty or loveless feelings all loose their power over us when we learn to love ourselves (and/or others,) through such times.

This is what i have learned to understand in my constant battle with my depressive illness to sincerely love God, others as well as myself hurting bad life is an awesome medicine to overcome bad life within my own life. Feelings of sympathy, kindness, gentleness, self-control, concern, good will, love, patience, etc. not only feel much better than bad life so often taking up my time but overcome them each time a little more. That is how i managed to leave my pit behind by trading my bad life for His good life however small the good seeds were at the time.

Actively loving works 100 percent reliably honestly true! For the pain of love knows a song of Victory that is why love can carry such very heavy burdens. Nowhere is this demonstrated clearer than with Jesus taking the way of the cross upon Himself where He successfully loved all bad life to death and brought about new life for all!

Please try it and actively love bad life away today.

Matthew 12:50 "For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.’"

Peace.

Self hate has been one of my biggest enemies and was the main reason behind my suicidal mind while rock bottom. Self hate is the opposite of self love. It is what our egos harvest doing wrongful things, be they imagined, or real wrongful things making us dislike ourselves.

and be like a person who is deeply depressed by what she or he turned out to be. i've been like that as well in my life. i hated myself for who i turned out to be, for that is not what i had wanted to turn out to be like, and everyone else around me judged me as well, so that gave me a license to hate myself.

However when i finally brought all of that to Jesus He brought me a completely different reality than the one i had been court up in and set me free from all of that self hate and the negativity that flowed out of that and brought me peace of mind and justice when dealing with myself when it comes to wrongs or weaknesses instead of judge like i had fro so long in times past.

Now i rarely fall for self hate, and if i do then i repent and give myself grace through Christ. i do know it has been one of the main dark forces behind my evil voices and hallucinations. The more of God's loving grace i eat the more acceptable i become also in the eyes of myself. This is slowly growing me away from the load of self reproach that can still come my way when depressed.

As someone with a depressive illness it has been very handy not to have to battle self hate any more on a daily basis because Jesus finally convinced me that His loving care works better than my raging hate. His ways are always good and right that is for sure. All praise to Him!

Not our own works we want - the works of Him who lives in us - in place of us who fell, for us, and with us. The godly in us come from Heaven! Jesus harvests and sows our dirt of heart every day brother, truly we are His working field. He will divide sheep from goat. He will never let us down.

We are so rich brother for think about it. How much have we suffered lies? Hardships because of wrong? loneliness and isolation because of guilt and shame usually forced upon us by other peoples disappointments? How often have we suffered rejection at the hand of others because of who and what we are? Even bad life within ourself against ourself?

I know the wicked been having a field day in me in the past and had me tied up to all kind of unovercomeable things. Yet in Christ i count my weakness gain, for the sanctifying hand of my Saviour passes by each time i confess my sins and shortcomings. He sets me free and keeps me free even if i fall He picks me back up again. He never rejects me when i call upon His name. He is an awesome Lord if ever there was one. All glory to His Name!

Yet look here you are brother, like a shining knight in armor speaking about the victory we have in Christ! Even now The Spirit of God anoints you His work. What does it matter that they cast us out of the synagogues down here? What does it matter that we suffer evil? At least we are on His side of the equation. Everyday Jesus comes past and picks up His own why should i fear or dread or be overcome with sorrow any longer? i've been celebrating Victory for more than 7 years already despite my sufferings His good life remains. God is good.

Many blessings your way bro

Negatives into Positives.
Fearing the Lord knows no harm,
but learns to appreciate,
His Word sound and true.

Sadness can be a friend instead of foe,
comfort you gently with tears that hope,
in the time pain be no more.

Despairing heeding depressive lies,
is the first shackle broken,
that chains you down there.

To see how hopeless depression is,
against loving true and sure,
generates confidence galore loving.

Hate can be good instead of burning hot,
cleansing completely from evil rule,
hating wrong returns us paradise.

The good news for mentally ill people is that the Gospel of salvation is for those who can't do it themselves.

The religions of this world demand adherence and good works. Yet a living faith in God's love brings us hope and ability - time and again. We have to be careful at this point our faith has been twisted by some to mean that our faith saves us, but of course this is not true! It is not our faith, but Jesus who saves us. Faith, according to the bible, is a gift of God, not something we can muster up ourselves, but receive when we ask for it.

Neither should we think that God always gives in full measure. He gives us enough to get by but not too much as to boast in it. People who appear to have great faith are often the ones who are good at vocalizing faith but not necessarily who have trained their hearts with it under duress.

Plenty of modern guru's today are really good at oozing faith and then sweep you up emotionally to muster up the same abilities. However there is a massive difference having faith in Jesus when down deep in the pit depressed, forsaken and alone, or in the crowd at a good old fashion Billy Graham Crusade swept up by well versed lines, songs, testimonies and plenty of charisma, glimmer and glitter and greatness.

That is why one's faith in depression is refined gold while the religious crusades often present cheap gold plating. So please always remember your worth lays in Jesus no one else or nothing else, not your own opinion either.

i think our faith is of greatest worth when it has been trialled, and not many events trial us like depression does. The faith we gain is of greater worth than gold and silver for it will get us through the valley of death and beyond.

Always remember that looking at Christ keeps us safe also when we have times of faithlessness. Please let such times not alarm us too much but be prepared to hand over such times to Jesus to receive faith back in return. It is for those reason that doubt and unbelief come and plaque us at times because it lives in our fallen heart - while Jesus ought to be King of kings and Lord of lords - so we don't want anything that is anti-Christ to rule us! And if other rulers still dwell in us then we go to Christ with it as we are in such states of being. So in our doubt and in our unbelief and in our fear and in our anger and in our hate we go to Jesus. Not away from Jesus! And so bad life dies in His loving truth and we get plenty of faith and love for Jesus back in return.

i know from experience that if we go to Jesus a few times and see The Word at work in our hearts cleansing and restoring our good life then doubt and unbelief - and all bad life bringing us hard times - very quickly loose their charm and we toss them out and live by faith in Jesus Christ instead. i know i did and do. Jesus is fully trust worthy to look after our welfare.

The best part of faith in Jesus is that it is for free. We only need to ask and await Him to drop it off.

i know one thing i never want to be depressed without having Jesus at my side again. For now i know it is a terrible trap and an utter lie. Jesus never leaves or forsakes us, even when we do He doesn't. It are the lies that have taken control of our hearts and minds that keep us away from Him. This is why loving God, other, as well as self, is so important for love will always have faith in love and God is love so truly loving is the only safe activity that a believer has at his or her disposal, just like that bible always said.

Love from the heart and i promise you that no matter how depressed you are right now, the growing love within you will lift you out of your pit. Guaranteed by God Himself - even if depression as an illness remains the pain will become manageable. It has been very much like that in my life.

The Will to Love.
The will of The Father is that we should love
Heed His way descending from above
following The Voice of Jesus within
and day by day letting go of our sin.

This way He us anew will make
out of us the wicked ones to take
installing New beginnings each day
Helping us follow His loving way.

God Is Love

I have to say I don’t know the biblical meaning of Love very clearly. When I was told that Heavenly Father loved me like my father, I did not trust this kind of love. Yes my father treats me very kindly and would like sacrifice himself for me, but this is not biblical Love. He himself is very self central, wish himself were the most intelligent and powerful and could look down everyone around him. He thinks only I who have his gene can continually develop his proud plan. Actually his God is just his gene. I am so hurt by his ambitious “love”, so I nearly don’t trust any kind of love. Not only he, many many Chinese educated by Communism look themselves as God. They believe nothing but themselves. I was one of them.

When I think Heavenly Father Loves me, I ask “really?” Why did He put me to be born in a country which does not know what Love is at all? Many Chinese don’t know what Love is from birth to death without hope. But I am fortunate, I know before the world was created God has loved me. And He loves me without ceasing even in the period I was very rebellious and sinful. Even His curse and punishment is from Love, to guide me to leave the wrong way and choose the right way. I was so bad that He had to strike me very heavily. Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us(Gal.3:13) , I had ought to deserve much more curse(perish forever) than actually I get, this is God’s Love to me. And yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him(Jesus Christ) with pain. (Isa.53:10), this is God’s Love to His only Son for Jesus Christ could win His kingdom through sufferings.

Rev.12:11[NRSV]But they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they did not cling to life even in the face of death.

I owe my fleshly father and Heavenly Father. I am so senseless to Love.

Be encouraged dear brother.

Yes i had a real problem seeing God the same as my earthly dad - my earthly dad often couldn't stand me, and didn't love me like my other siblings and always put me down - i though God was like that for years.

It wasn't until i read a book by Jurgen Moltmann called the Crucified God that my eyes began to open to what Jesus meant when He said - when see Me you also see My Father! This radically upset my past understanding of God (where God hung Jesus on a cross because He was so angry with sinners that He needed to punish and hurt someone before He could be happy again.) Yet now after struggling through this awesome book, for it is no easy read, i began to see the Father for how He really was and is - a perfectly loving God who's Loving Truth is constantly crucified by both the world and religion but who keeps on arising back up again to love lost sinners even better than before. Motltmann also pointed out to me that God sided with the poor and the oppressed in displaying Himself as the crucified God and the manner in which He got murdered down here.

i will eternally be thankful that my understanding of God changed over time and i may now see Him as He is, purely unadulterated love - impossible for us to grasp - though we all instinctively long for Him more than life down here for He is True and Lasting Life. Truly He belongs in our heart to take care of us as our Triune God and lead us into the New. (John 14)

So yes i understand what you are saying that you don't know love that well. He is hard to know for unconditional love is not something that comes easily to us sinners.

However crucified with Christ means that we also take on the nature of our Heavenly Father again and truly are in His image again. It is this that Jesus works at with the most pleasure in our hearts i found. The awesomely good and faithful husband King that He is, in growing us into a child of God. Where His grace over us fills us with is love and transforms us before our very eyes - time and again - albeit this process can take some time to bear fruit yet the outcome is assured - we become more and more gracious and loving people under His care.

Be of very good courage bro.

Love Making.

My love removes what has no desire or need,
To bare to the passions of embracing His Love,
Pure ecstasy as His Love releases The Seed,
Love making conceives Heavenly bliss from above.

My love carrying what His Good Loving has Sown,
Awaiting the time of delivery to be done,
Our Heavenly Dad to give a child of His own,
Hear the Angels adore Him who gave us The Son.

Blackest dirt is my soil
the workings of my heart
blackest dirt to be oh Lord!
my life produces plenty of that.

Blackest dirt is all the corruption
the workings of my mind
blackest dirt to be oh Lord!
What can i do about all that?

Blackest dirt is my home
the workings of me the worm
blackest dirt my food oh Lord!
Terribly sorry so dirty to be!

One strange thing i found in my Church and that is that we hardly ever got a sermon on the book of Revelation and if we did they never drew lines to us as spiritual beings and the words of this book. Which struck my as suspicious seeing the book begins by telling us that we will be blessed if we read it aloud and we will be blessed if we take it to heart!

Revelation 1-3
The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testifies to everything he saw – that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ. Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near.

So where have we been waiting for these 2000 years - empty promises of a new creation that never came or is the word describing a different process first of all. A spiritual one, Revelation is first of all a spiritual tale that will bless us endlessly when we take it message to heart.

How true this has been in my life. From all the books of the bible it has blessed me the most together with the book of Ezekiel they shape the very foundation of my faith life for i found my New Life/Creation in those books and fully endorse that Jesus dresses us with Eternity down here already. Just like He said He would!

i swear that any person battling major depression can go spiritually through the books of Revelation and (or the book of Ezekiel if someone has been brought up a believer,) for that is how our Lord harvests us in our downfall as worldly people with messed up minds and love starved hearts, see Revelation 14:14-20 for example. But then also our resurrection into His Kingdom ruling over life beside Him as we overcome the claws of wrong through The Lamb of God, see Revelation 20:1-6. Which ends with us being build anew into His New Creation. Revelation 21-22. Such a process through God's Word is real life salvation and real life Revelation.

Be of very good courage as you begin to eat the words of God with your heart and mind and place yourself into the word of God as you go.....

1 Peter 1:23-25
For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. For,

‘All people are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
but the word of the Lord endures for ever.’

And this is the word that was preached to you.

How dark does the darkness of depression go? Once i fell into that darkness for seven long years at first the darkness overcame me so. That is in the end i agreed with my negative thoughts fuelled my self hate by actively hating myself and denying myself God's mercy. Not until Christ shook me awake rock bottom did i realise how deep my sleep of death in Him had not been.

i realised that not until with find meaning in the darkness that we can begin to appreciate it. What can the great desolation not all tell us about life apart of God? So much did i eat my bad life that i was constantly heaving it up again. This is of utmost importance to those depressed not to believe the bad thoughts we have in our own mind but only the truth of God, so we learn to walk by His light through our darkness and out of it.

For it are those in darkness that see the great light we know from Scripture. Jesus certainly became that great light in me when i realised i was one with Him in His death crucified next to Him. Completely overcome and about ready to die but not finding death an easy achievement with people loving me true down here.

Faith has to be true also when bad life strikes Jesus taught me about that. i never realised how much of a Sunday Christian i had been. Often confessing Him with my lips but secretly harbouring all kind of bad life in my life as well. However depression weeds out the weak, my faith and good life, and shows us the strong which in my life was my doubt and unbelief, especially when i was rock bottom. In the end i cursed God instead of loved Him, that is how far the lies of depression dragged me down into my darkness before i saw the light of His love over me even down there.

Did i eat my words when i saw Christ in my life. All my curses came to a fiery end that day. Not that Jesus was angry, just His agony me doing that to Him was enough to change my mind forever and cry out a zillion sorries.

God suffers our bad life just like we do that is what i have learned to understand about all that. The difference is that when we suffer bad life with Him He makes something good come out of it while when we suffer our depression in the darkness of our lost-ness then bad life only produces more bad life.

Truly Jesus puts everything upside down when we understand that He is always beside of us, also when we are in our worst times. Such realisations shows us the lies of depression which makes us feel so godforsaken and alone when we believe those thoughts and feelings pressing on us from within.

So suffering depression does not need to make us feel so bad and forgotten. WE can be sad with Jesus and still grow loving good life out of such times so what does the sad time matter with Him to mourn sin and godforsakenness is bliss? Honestly true.

He can be our Refuge even at worst times of depression can He make something good come out of it. Such is the skill of Jesus to convince us to stay with Him even when depression bites deep. At least i seek Him out actively now when i go down hill and hold onto His promise to come quickly with all i got during my worst times for i know He will see me through and bless me somehow. i have learned to trust Him completely.

So even though my depressive illness goes on my life with Him has taken me out of my pit on put me on level ground i will always thank Him for this. For now each bout of depression i get teaches me valuable things about God, my neighbour and myself and from this perspective even depressive times have value and purpose unlike it was before.

All praise to Jesus.
