No, the devil is in the process of being out-conned... and that takes proving...

The way I kinda wonder if God beat the devil, is not similar to "let's not see if we can beat professor Moriarty by giving him everything he wants..." Kinda thing (Star Trek TNG, Ship in a Bottle)...

I wonder if that's how God beats the devil...
The way the Matrix series ends, at the end, Smith has taken over, and Neo is all that stands in his way... Neo beats him by submitting to him and giving him everything he wants, which is to essentially beat, or kill, Neo, and this happens, but... Neo comes back and Smith is defeated... "Is it over...?"....

See once the devils program has run it's course and fulfilled it's purpose, it's purpose is done, no longer needed, which leaves him nowhere to go...

The only way the devil could prove he has free will, is to choose to repent and be good, at this point, otherwise, he's running a program, in my book...

He will not though...

He has some very sensitive feelings, so, I will not say too much more on this, but...

God Bless!

I think part of the problem is God got victory over the devil, by what he did... It's already done, I think, part of the problem and why it may not seem to be so for some of us is, that, we do not "understand" this, is all...

How did God get victory over the devil?, and how can we also...?

God Bless!

The devil is God's enemy (Matthew 13:25, Matthew 13:39). He is also the enemy of the people of God (Ephesians 6:11). The devil is the father of lies (John 8:44). He lies to God's people and tempts them to sin. He is the tempter of God's people (1 Thessalonians 3:5). He is the prince of the world in that he has deceived the whole world into participating in his rebellion against God (Revelation 12:9, Ephesians 2:2).

So we can safely say that if anyone is rebelling against God, the devil is involved. They are under his power and influence. And if anyones sins - including a believer - the devil is involved. He tempts people to sin and deceives people into sinning.

God saves people from the tyranny of the devil (Colossians 1:13). He is conquered by the blood of the lamb (Revelation 12:11). Surely the evil one hates this. He seeks to ensnare and destroy believers.

But is the devil stronger than God? Is he able to pluck them out of God's hand? Is he able to successfully tempt them to apostatize and to reject Jesus?

Jesus says no. In John 10:27-29 - 27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.

Paul says no. In Romans 8:38-39 he says - 38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, 39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Those who are saved can never lose their salvation because Jesus is stronger than the devil. If you say that believers can lose their salvation then you deny this. You're effectively saying that the devil can prevail, even in a small way, against the Lord.
You said; "Those who are saved can never lose their salvation because Jesus is stronger than the devil. If you say that believers can lose their salvation then you deny this. You're effectively saying that the devil can prevail, even in a small way, against the Lord." How does that line up with 1 Corinthians 9:27
But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.?

The fact of the matter is...One can for sure lose his/ her salvation.

James 4:v.7-8&4
7 Submit yourselves therefore to God.
Resist the Devil, and he will flee from you.
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?
whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the ENEMY of God.

Luke 16:v.18 - 18
Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.

Tim.4:v.1-2
1 Now the Spirit speaketh EXPRESSLY, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

Matthew 24:12-13

12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end,
the same shall be saved.

Revelation 2:v.25-29

25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.
26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:
27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
28 And I will give him the morning star.
29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the Churches.

Matthew 25: 6to12
6
And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their *lamps. (The lamp is the Word of God)
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your *oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

As we can all see, who went to buy oil and who was selling oil out of time, yes, out of time, they lost their souls forever.

How to understand that God's clock is pointing to midnight? Have you ever meditated on this? For men, midnight is the end of a 24-hour day, and the beginning of a new day. Now, for the Most High God is the same, the difference is that a Day to the Lord is like 1000 years and 1000 years as a Day. Taking the Christian Calendar as a parameter, we can say that in the year 2000 God's clock was marking exactly midnight.
We are already living the 2.018 year of the Christian Calendar, so the clock of God is for something beyond midnight. The husband comes, by the way the midnight cry is ringing. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit hath shewed unto the churches. You are warning.

An important thing to note is that as a christian one is a pilgrim, we are still on the way, still in the status viatoris, sanctification is still ongoing, we have not yet arrived at our heavenly home, we live by Hope. The devil cannot snatch true believers out of God's hand, nevertheless we are to hold on to Jesus. After death, those in Christ, the glorified saints will not be able to sin.

Theories as to how God got victory over the devil are one thing, we don't need to believe anymore than what scripture teaches. A believers victory is grounded in that but has to come about by following pastoral wisdom. There has been plenty written in terms of pastoral theology on it down through the centuries.

Thomas Brooks: Precious Remedies against Satan's Devices

William Gurnall: The Christian in Complete Armour

These are two classic pastoral works, covering the whole gamut of the devil's tricks, of course pubished when people did believe in a devil, but for that they are not in the least bit superstitious, relying rather on sound biblical teaching, rather than any sort of sympathetic magic.

Nowadays we think we are more enlightened perhaps, and we think people in the past thought the devil wore red tights and had a beard, and we don't want that nonsense, or only at a theatre maybe.

So CS Lewis's nugget of wisdom, that there are two equal and opposite errors that humans can fall into as regards the devils, one is to have an unhealthy fascination with them (and what they wear), the other is to disbelieve in their existence entirely. But the devils don't care which error one falls into, they hail a magician and a materialist with the same delight. The devil is very much an equal opportunities deceiver.

Satan is surely weaker and less wise, but is able to persuade and use legal rights to make progress, as with Eve in Eden. And remember Hebrews 6:6.

Satan has a legal right as god of this world, to curse, the cause death, and the living God preferred to use the Christ to save us over the angels or another external strength.

Satan's wisdom meant that after sin, the couple Adam and Eve, could not be retrieved into repentance and and that the fire of God had to be withheld from consuming them, in case it destroyed them. Then was the pillar of fire in Exodus and it was too much for the Hebrews and they were promised the Christ, a brother from among them.

Devil doesn’t have the power, but people are free and can reject God, even after forgiveness, if they want.

O yea he does , yes devil needs to ask God but he himself has powers , magicians following him in Egypt could transform staffs into snakes , moreover Satan send fire ball in the book of Job , if it was God's fireball then God is murderer so it has to be Satan's power , God only allowed him to do that .

Satan may be able to do many things in this world, but he can’t destroy soul and that is what really matters. Body is only like temple for soul. Temple can be destroyed and rebuilt as the example of Jesus shows. And usually it seems to me that Satan has really only the power that people give to Satan. I think people should not so easily give power to Satan.

If he could destroy souls it would be better for some people than believing his lies and going to suffer eternal lake of fire to be honest .

According to Jesus, those who are in hell, are destroyed and without life. Life is for righteous, not for unrighteous. And if one doesn't have life and is destroyed, I don't see how could he suffer.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Matt. 10:28

These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.
Mat. 25:46

For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Satan is a tool if he does not repent, or change his ways (he won't) anyway, he is no better than a computer program, even an automaton, if he wants to be free, let him change...

Resist the devil and he will flee, run away from, or try to get way away from you... Sword/Word of Truth (God's word most especially) or biblical truths, makes him flee or even be running from you for once, that's the way I interpret that scripture...

But, he always comes back at another opportune time for him, which is usually an inopportune time for you BTW...

How do you think I see this song, it applies to what I said... I see it in a rather unique way, I think...?

No, the devil is not stronger than God, and he is also not stronger than God "in you" either, if you can believe it...

"Greater is the one living inside of me, (God) than he who is living in the world (Satan)."

Hey don't blame me, I didn't write the song lyrics...

Anyway,

God Bless!

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
