Must be Christian, must vote Trump. Contradictory, yes?

There's this woman, in her early 50s. No kids, single. I actually met up on a date with her a year ago. Nothing really came of it though as I don't think she was interested and she kind of had a lot of wild ideas regarding certain "energy" ideals in regards to "vortex way of life".

She expresses that she is looking for a believer in God, too, but..."You must have voted Trump" in order to fit the bill. Yeah, I know. This is interesting. Seems rather contradictory in nature with the above headline, yes? lol

Esp. odd coming from a woman, right...when a lot of women completely can't stand the guy.

Now, I don't know if this topic will be too hot button or not sure of the bias in here regarding this.

I've come across other woman's profiles such as this, and you almost feel like reaching out to them and say, "How can you be 1. A woman, 2. A Christian and 3. Still support such a guy?

Wanted clarify #2. It's more like "How can you be Christian, but still vote for Trump?" Not saying they are NOT Christian...but considering how Trump is questionably immoral as demonstrated on TV, it makes one wonder how can someone still support him.

1) You know perfectly well that this thread will only serve to start ugly debates and arguments and ultimately end in being locked.

2) This thread belongs in the Politics or Ethics forum, not Singles. Because we all know it will turn into a nasty political/ethical discussion.

Okay, no problem. Is there a way from me to move this or does an admin have to?

It's called a difference of opinion. I personally felt Hillary was much more immoral than Trump.

Thing is though, people seemed to have forgotten there were more than 2 options.

Also, almost 50% didn't even vote

So? Why didn't you create a thread stating that Hillary was an immoral option? Or ask how Christians could support her?

A lot of women voted for Trump. We didn't have any sparkling examples of integrity on the final ticket but Trump didn't pretend to be someone he isn't and much of the stuff in the news was just part of the story. I personally like the guy even if I don't agree with everything he says. I agree with more than the last administration. There is a reason he got elected ... and the media and a lot of liberals are ignoring that fact. He won so that kind of leans that a lot of women must have also voted for him.

As for her profile, she is simply saying she wants to date a Christian and someone who identifies as a conservative politically. I might not say it in the same way but I agree. I don't want to get married to man whom I disagree about politics on .. As it is, I am tired for being beat up for my beliefs. I kept my mouth shut during Obama's administration and now I am being told that I need to shut up & sit down when my party actually won the White House. MY house should be a safe zone.

Honestly I think BOTH sides are delusional.

Trump AND Hilary were BOTH a worst case scenario.

This past election wasn't terrifying because Trump or Hilary would be our next Pres. What was and still IS terrifying about it is that the system is so horrendously broken that Trump or Hilary even stood a chance to lead this nation. Let alone one of them actually is.

The scariest thing of all? People are still too blinded to see how broken the system is and cling to their party loyalty and believe that Hilary would have been a savior and those that believe Trump is truly any different than a politician.

Yes, Trump says crazy things. But think about it. He is playing the opposite side of the game, being abrasive, obnoxious.... as opposed to the politician side, nicey baby kissing hand shaking "Im one of you" that has been done a million times. The man has a brain and is feeding the side that is tired of Political correctness, but he is still playing the game just like any politician or business man.

Dem. and Rep. parties are BOTH about maintaining a status quo for themselves and nothing more, its NOT about the well being of the people.

Ugh. Thankfully that is not the prevailing opinion at my church. We saw both candidates as moral disasters. That said, when Trump is running against another moral disaster named Hillary Clinton, it makes perfect sense why a Christian who dislikes her would vote for him. And vice versa. Given that both were horrible choices, I think Christians (and all voting Americans) owe it to each other to not judge each other for which Presidential candidate they voted for in 2016.

Easy, tiger. The OP talked about someone who said that she was looking for someone who had voted for Trump. That's why ;)

Trump is a baffoon, plain and simple. I would much prefer a leader who was prone to promoting peace and wasn't a complete narcisstic, child. (I know, I know. Tell us how you really feel, Paulie079!) But either way, no political party is perfectly in line with a biblical worldview, and political parties are human constructs. With that said, I can see how someone might prefer to date a person who they politically agree with given how divisive politics are right now. It'd stink to really hit it off with someone and then find out that they voted for the spawn of Satan (since that's how we all view "the other candidate"). Or how awkward would it be if your boo knelt for the national anthem while you proudly sported your red hat and denim overalls? See what I mean?

People can have fun addressing this post when the thread gets moved since I'll never see it again at that point lol.

My denim overalls got ripped. I feel so naked without them.

Well, one could say...that most all politicians are immoral. In fact, that's been a butt of every joke. You could say you're picking the lesser of the 2 evils (but I voted 3rd party and was still ridiculed for doing so).

It was the whole "Grab 'em by the ...you know what' that boggles my mind as to why a WOMAN would support this guy. A man, I could understand (as sad as that sounds, lol)

But a woman? I guess she that means she doesn't mind being groped?

Women voted for Bill Clinton too. I don't understand why.

Saying that you don't want to date someone of a different political ideology isn't the same as judging them.

What seems far more eyebrow-raising to me here is the fact that she has a political requirement for dating that is this specific: "You must have voted Trump." This particular President. What kind of sense does that make? In the grand scheme of dating, who gives a crap which guy you voted for? Regardless of who it was in any election, not just this past one? I actually came to think Obama was an okay guy after a while, but had it been four years ago, I would be just as much of a picky moron to require of a potential girlfriend on any first date that she need have voted Obama in order to possibly be a match for me.

Again, in this context, who the heck cares that much? This woman you have mentioned in your story, for one, I guess.
