I have been considering Catholicism a lot this year. I feel drawn to Catholicism and have since I was a little girl. I am not able to go to the Catholic church because of disability but I like that Catholics pray to Mary and Saints as well as Jesus Christ. Both my grandmothers are Catholic and both my parents grew up Catholic, they are Non denominational now. I was baptized Catholic and went to a Catholic high school and middle school. I loved the formality of it. I have prayed to Jesus about whether or not I should pursue Catholicism. I feel as long as I am worshiping Jesus that it will be okay. I think that having Catholicism will help me heal. When I write my stories, often the character becomes Catholic during their healing process. I think I should become Catholic like my story characters and that being Catholic will soothe me.

If you were confirmed, you should already be Catholic.

I wish I could've gone to a Catholic school when I was a kid.
I never had confirmation. When I went to Catholic schools I was non denominational like my parents. Going to Catholic school was nice. I liked the school uniforms and formality. The teachers were also kind.

It should be all about what you need and require in your church life, and if that means being Catholic. then you should pursue that.
I don't think I agree with that. The Catholic Church claims to exclusively possess the fullness of truth. That claim is either true or it is not true. If it is not true, I don't see why anybody would want to join since the foundational element of the Church's identity would be based upon an error.

As a Catholic, I would expect this response. However, in this day and age, I think the rhetoric gets a little silly when any group claims ultimate authority. And also this statement really had little to do with my post.

I'm still saying that triple rosary novena for you Bluerose. Keep going, don't hesitate, but be prepared, God is placing you on journey (an Exodus, to be exact), and that journey will lead you to places you will not be expecting. Keep praying, and stay close to Our Lady.

By the way, I should of shared this with you earlier, cause now old but, here's a thread you might be interested in: How's your relationship with Mary?

With all do respect, are Jesus' claims of ultimate authority "silly?"

Well, since this is the Catholic section...

You apparently view someone's choice of attendance as a matter of preference. I think there is and should be more to it than that. In other words, we disagree and I was opening the floor to discussion on that.

Does that work better for you?

However, I think in this day and age. Preference and how a certain group's catechistic beliefs are what should be the factor in a Christian choosing a certain group. When it comes to Christianty these days IMO, if the faith they teach is Trinitarian, able to confess the Nicene Creed and is biblical. then the minor disputes of dogma between groups is just that minor.

You really should not give advise as an Anglican in the Catholic forum. You are free to fellowship though.
It should be all about what you need and require in your church life, and if that means being Catholic. then you should pursue that.

I could ask the same of you along with your winning friendliness.

Are you usually this tone deaf or have you worked on that? In case you didn't notice I didn't "advise" another church, did I?

I don't the OP (Who is a good friend of mine) wants this to become a debate, but considering how argumentative you're being, I just have to ask these two questions:

1. If this is just you're opinion, why should anyone take it seriously? If the Trinity, the Nicene Creed, and Biblical-ness are only important in your opinion, then that implies that objectively they's not important and just as "minor" as everything else, according you.

2. More generally, apart from you own opinion, what determines what is a major dispute, and what is minor dispute? And how do you know that the Trinity, the Nicene Creed, and the Holy Bible, are major disputes?

And I'm getting called argumentative.

Have fun....
Sorry, but it's hard take someone who is constantly advertising their own opinions, (and not even defending them, or claiming absolute truth over them) as anything but argumentative.
