Throughout God’s Word in the Bible there are certain important themes mentioned over and over again. I'm thankful that Almighty God inspired the scriptures be written in such a way, that when my soul has specific needs, His Holy Spirit leads me to the chapter and verse that fills my cup and quenches my thirst. It's a wonderful feeling to know that we can follow Jesus and He will lead us.
Here are some verses that are filling my spiritual needs at the moment...
- Matthew 4:19 — 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
- Mark 1:17 — 17 And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.
- Matthew 28:19-20 — 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
- 1 Timothy 2:5 — 5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;
- Proverbs 3:5 — 5 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
- John 1:14 — 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
- John 3:16 — 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
- Psalms 106:48 — 48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting: and let all the people say, Amen. Praise ye the Lord.
Perhaps one my favorites...
- John 1:1 — 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
