I am sure there are differences between each Annual Conference. But in a general sense, I would say it is probably one of the most exhausting, rewarding, spiritually uplifting experiences of my life. Prior to last year I would have also included "spiritually draining" and I might have to put it in depending how General Conference goes. (I am from the New York Annual Conference, on the more conservative side, so there have been times we have gone long hours and feeling like nothing has gotten accomplished.)

If yours is anything like the one I attend, the worship will be great. Lots of singing - and for me there is nothing greater than an arena full of Methodists singing hymns. Some of the reports can get tedious, but if there's a good presenter they will know how to make even the most dull of reports exciting and fun. You'll meet people from all over your Annual Conference and if you attend in upcoming years, it will be like a big family reunion.

The days are long, but that helps you get a good night's sleep so you can be rested for the next day.

I'm heading to my Annual Conference in a little over a month as my congregation's delegate (taking over for someone who was not able to go) and have attended the last 5 years either as a delegate or a guest.

I hope you have a great and blessed time!
