I am thinking of becoming a life drawing model. If I ever did become one do you think it would be ok to tell my church friend?

She has nothing against nudity and we went to a museum where they had nude statues and art.

I would not want her to think less of me if she knew I did life drawing model.

Interesting activity you are thinking of.

My feeling is as long as you are concern with how she will view your life, she will sense that fear and react to it, thinking she is supporting you.

When you can tell her out of faith that this is what God wants you to do, so no fear or shame or guilt, then she will accept you even while you pose.
Unless she is a fundamentalist in what ever way she is one.

I had a classmate who worked as a life model while in graduate school. I know that her now-husband has no objection to her having done this as a nude of her remains on display in their house.

I personally would have no segregation in any public or private facility. Not all places have family restrooms or locker rooms.I personally help take care of my wife and sister in law and I am glad there are family restrooms and locker rooms. However the reality of this is that all facilities do not have these rooms available because of budgets do not make it possible to build them.It would be easier just to change signage to restrooms or locker rooms.
Parents can take their children into a restroom with them and not worry.I see many a father standing by the women's door waiting for their daughter.A mother standing by the men's door waiting for their son.

Having both sexes use the same showers is almost universal at resorts, and people have no problems with it.

Most resorts have separate-sex restrooms, but some put everyone together; I would be fine with both sexes together.

I have no idea why most resorts have separate-sex restrooms, but I've heard that many people like it that way.

The ultimate "co-ed restroom" is a nude beach. Most have no restrooms at all, and beachgoers must improvise their own. No stalls, no dividers, no problems.

Should we be afraid of nudism, or is it something beautiful and natural and something to share and not hide as long as people accept it?

If you love God and keep his commandments, then you shouldn't be afraid of his creation. It's the people who choose to worship Satan who are gymnophobes.

For the record, I was raised a conservative Baptist Preacher's Kid... and so I was taught all the standard "modesty" rules and the nudity-taboo that most Christians today have heard.

But when confronted with the very concept of a "Christian Nudist," I was confident that I could refute any claim that someone could possibly make that Social Nudity was OK... that is, not sinful and not forbidden by God.

Instead, I found in my studies the exact opposite. The Bible does not teach "modesty" the way the church defines it today. And it absolutely does not condemn or prohibit social nudity.

A number of posts in this thread have been from people who have posted a list of all the verses typically put forth to support the supposed ban on social nudity. But what I found was that every last one of those verses fails to uphold the nudity-taboo when carefully and honestly examined!

I have since become a naturist myself... because I could not in good conscience continue to bow to all the man-made anti-nudity rules put forth by the modern church.

I have written a blog to present my conclusions, demonstrating how all those verses misused by the church to oppose social nudity have been incorrectly interpreted and applied.

The Biblical Naturist

And here's my statement about why I am a Naturist By Biblical Conviction.

If anyone thinks that they have a bible verse that absolutely forbids social nudity, I would gladly hear it.

I welcome any comments or challenges.

OK, say like a group of Christians go on a trip to Europe. They go to a nude beach and no one is there, but there are signs everywhere in a foreign language.

Later as more people arrived they find out that the signs say that past this point you will encounter nude swimmers. Should they go to another beach or would it be ok to stay there or even talk to the naturists just like any other beach goer?

When they get home is it ok to tell others that they were close to a nude beach? Is it no big deal or will they have to defend why they chose to go or stay?

Let me restate your question in different terms...
  • If some Christians find themselves exposed to social nudity, should they care what other people/Christians think about how they respond to the situation?
Answer: No.

The fear of man (even of other Christians) is a snare. It never leads us into righteousness, even if it results in "correct" behavior. Why? because the fear of man is a tool of Satan, and no matter how he disguises the fear as something else, and no matter how much we may approve of the "results"...

Satan's tools always do Satan's work.

This time, the fear of man may result in a "desired" behavior, but it trains a person to be alert to and make decisions in their life based upon the opinions of others, and the next time they have the fear of man, the results may be deadly and/or destructive.

The solution? Live by the truth... without apology. Don't even act like you are obligated to live according to the opinions of other people.
