The Holy Bible state that a flood engulfed the earth after 40 days and nights of rain and the only survivors were Noah and family and the creatures which they brought on board. Could someone please explain how come the earth is so multi racial considering Noah et al were probably Middle Eastern ? There have been many creatures first documented centuries after the time of the flood, were these creatures also onboard the arc? I look forward to reading the brethrens' answers. Aidan. The fallacy is the thought that Noah and his family were of Middle Eastern lineage. Nowhere in the Bible is the land Noah came from placed upon a map. There is some discussion about it, but nothing that nails it. Noah was about 1056 years from the time of Adam, when the generations were counted. If you look at the years it is highly likely that Noah and at least one of the grandchildren of Adam knew each other. With everyone coming from two ancestral parents, Adam and Eve, it is highly likely that the differing racial types were still being worked out, if at all. And remember, It wasn't just Noah on the Ark with his daughters. Here is the verse, “In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark.” Try finding a physical description of any of them. It isn't there. And, giving the tendency of the human genome to diversify, it is very usable, if not likely that every racial type you see, based on Biblical measuring, was spread across the earth a thousand years after Noah passed on.

I would disagree since the "cubit" was the Egyptian unit of measurement building the Pyramids. [The length of a cubit was from one's elbow to end of the finger.] Thus, with scriptures recording that Noah Ark was 300 cubits in length according to the scriptures. The use of term cubits in the scripture reflects Noah lived in the area of Giza.

The Holy Bible state that a flood engulfed the earth after 40 days and nights of rain and the only survivors were Noah and family and the creatures which they brought on board. Could someone please explain how come the earth is so multi racial considering Noah et al were probably Middle Eastern ?

While that is not the story I heard, but then again considering what is written in 2 Peter 1:20-21 and Matthew 4:4, feel free to disagree.

NOAH'S ORIGIN
In regards to the origin of Noah, Since the term 'cubits' was used in reference to the size of the ark, the 'cubit' was a unit of measure used by the Egyptians to construct the pyramids. So the area from would have been considered in the area of Giza, in Egypt. However, it is interesting to note that while Egypt had not written language using the written spoken word, there is no data to substantiate the claim that the Egyptians had any form of a numerical system. And in such, the unit of measurement for a cubit was based upon the length of the forearm, from the bottom of elbow to the finger.

BIBLICAL TEXT

12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Genesis 6:12-13
17 And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.

18 But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee.
Genesis 6:17-18
And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.

Genesis 7:10

THE FLOOD
In the Genesis 1:2, it is written that the formless surface of the earth was completely covered under a deluge of waters. And the earth was void of any living substance.

THE BOW
While many consider that the bow that set in the cloud as token of his covenant that the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh, nor will there be any more be a flood to destroy the earth was a rainbow

However, a rainbow does not result from a cloud, which is an body of gas formed by water, called water vapor. The rainbow is produced as is the visible light is refracted through droplets of water vapor which have condensed and falling back to the surface as liquid. Therefore, rainbow would have existed since the time that rain began to fall from the atmosphere.

Thus, as written in, Gen 9:14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:

And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
John 15:27

The arch which was set in the cloud, or expanse of gas, was the atmosphere produced during the precept of the 2nd day.

FLOOD OF WATERS

Consider the following scriptures which might have indicate that the flood of waters having a different meaning than what the secular minded would presume by reading without study.

7 Who is this that cometh up as a flood, whose waters are moved as the rivers?
8 Egypt riseth up like a flood, and his waters are moved like the rivers; and he saith, I will go up, and will cover the earth; I will destroy the city and the inhabitants thereof.
Jeremiah 46:7-8

"... When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him."
Isaiah 59:19

When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;
2 Sam 22:5

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.
Ps 18:4

"... and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
Dan 9:26

Thus the flood of waters referenced in Genesis after the the text in Genesis 1:2 was a reference describing to a flood of violence.

This question assumes the story is literally true history, which is something I don't accept. Thus, no scientific explanation can be offered based on the text.

I can't remember where I read this from so I can't give a reference. I know it was recent in the past few months but I recent that Noah's wife was of Nordic decent. Also I've heard it time and time again about The sons of Noah moving to the east, south and west which explains the multi nations. Many, many creatures have numerous baby per litter and have many litter per year so it's not hard to imagine population growth for them, think of how many people there are now just in the last 100 years. Also if you take out the animals that were so numerous but are now extinct that we know were around after because of carbon dating which is completely trustworthy (sarcasm by the way) and the animals we also knew were so numerous but now are endangered because somehow we knew there were tens of thousands 300 years ago and only 12 left in the whole world now. I take the Bible very literally and also know there are many messages in each lesson and story it gives us. It's the stuff science and the rest of the world tries to get people to believe that I find completely nonsensical. I mean honestly when we think of the animals, also when we think of Adam and Eve for that matter we think of full grown adults, Who's to say they were. We're told to look and accept Heaven like that of a child why don't we ever think that the animals along with Adam and Eve with Newborn, hatchlings. Thinking that the animals being babies would greatly reduce the need for room, the need for one animal hunting and killing the other, food. Just my opinion though, just throwing a thought out.

I personally don't think that a lot of what is in the Old Testament is meant to be taken literally. I don't think the stories actually happened. I could be wrong. It's possible that God did something that defies all logic and evidence that man has, but I don't think that is necessarily so.
