• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

The worldly ideas that posit themselves as truth as put forth by the secular world is frustrating. Pray that I will remember God's truth and not believe in lies. :prayer:

Hi,
Wow, great prayer request. Since Jesus one day told His Apostles that He prayed that their faith would never fail, what I am never allowed to do, normally, I'll do for you.
I have asked The Father to never let your faith fail, for an eternity.
LOVE and love,

Feeling a little nervous as I got a job interview tomorrow.

Wish me well:wave:

Jeshu,
Many people pray when you post, and never tell you. I have found that out. I am praying that whatever should happen to you, in your job interview does happen.
Before I go. Most times, if not all times, that I have been hired, I have been surpirsed that they would do this. Later I found out they were always right. In the few times when I have not been hired, I have found out God was right, I should not work there. (Always there were hiddenn problems with that employer that I would only find out years later. Sometimes it was only the boss, who was a problem.)
If the above were told to me when I was young, it would still be hard, to trust in your God. But, that is what worked for me. Trust, even accepting all that happened to me.

How do I feel?
Close to death. Most days to many days, fighting is all I do. I fight to find a reason to live. I talk to God and ask Him to relieve me of all I feel that is wrong, and maybe like He does to a friend, He just looks at me......loving......Lovingly.
As hard as it sounds I have found only grace to stay alive one more day, is given to me.
Once I failed, and that night/day still reminds me, of who would have been hurt, had I killed me.
Today, as I put all aside, somehow I type, somehow I live, only three weeks ago I thought all was lost, but today I can live with the items and item that threatend me. I know how, but at times I forget. Jesus gets me through this and through that.
Just in case you might think I am not one of you.
...Katie., the kid in me.

sitting by the lake practicing mindfulness and enjoying the Lords beautiful creation. We are in a society that teaches if we are not busy, then we are not useful of prospering. The bible says Noah found GRACE, first time the word says the word grace, the name Noah means rest. In rest, we find grace, Gods unmerited, undeserved favor, we dont work for it, we dont pray for it, we rest in the finished work of Christ!!!! :preach::liturgy::groupray::priest:

Definitely praying for you. A job can be life changing. I pray that the interview goes well, and if that if the position would usher in a more positive chapter of your life that you would indeed receive the offer.

Having an awful headache for days.

Continuing to pray for you. It is so hard to stay emotionally positive when physical difficulties are also present.

super duper anxious and paranoid.

I realize you are an atheist, but I hope you do not mind - I have been praying for you.

.......

Thank you for praying and caring. I hope I will secure this job for it seems perfect for me - working with troubled men - two days a week - and flexible working hours. Also the job commences just as my casual job finishes.

I have the qualifications and the experiences to do this job. Lets hope that they understand my 18 year absence from the work force due to illness.

I, too, have been absent from the work force a long time due to illness. I hope the new job goes well for you. Flexible working hours is a real plus.

Just been for my job interview but I am not feeling very positive about it. I faced three regional managers and they were very interested in my 18 years absence of the workforce, they kept asking after that and referring back to it, and even though I answered all their other questions well I don't think that it helped my situation anything.

A pity if I don't get it, it would have been a great job.

Thanks Ruth,

After the interview I don't feel very confident, the 18 years of absence was duly noted and asked after, as far as I am concerned I haven't got a hope.:o

Hi Gerry,

Been gone for a couple days, didn't know of your job situation. You're in my thoughts and prayers, my friend.

Thanks dear brother that means a lot to me, all those who wished me well or prayed for me are appreciated. It is awesome to experience deeper communion with other people.

love

I am sorry to hear that. Praying that these individuals may be able to overlook this one shortcoming and see all the great things, such as experience and what appears to be a passion, respect, and appreciation for the position, I am sure you have offer.

I keep having to fight this anxiety about being "inferior" in some way or another. Like I can't think of the good things about myself and can only think of the bad things. It's so hard because my OCD wires me to be really anxious about something. :( Please pray for me.

Hi,
It is when you are sure that you have the job, that is when you do not have the job. NOW you may not have the job, but your thinking is totally normal, whether or not you do have the job. Press on. Also getting the interview is a big deal.
Not everyone gets an interview for many jobs.
If I were interviewing you, or if people asked me about you after an interview, I would have zero problems with you being out of the workforce for 18 years. Yes, I would keep asking about it, as it is just do darn interesing to me, in a stauch kind of way. (meaning: Wow! This person is mentally tough. Also....)
There is much they could be thinking. For an application to be accepted for the PH.D. program at Stanford by someone I know, I asked them what kind of questions they might ask a master's degree candidate. He said: "They might ask you how many gas stations there are in town.?"
Of course I said: What? (meaning that is the most unexpected item I can think of and why would they ask that?) He replies, they might want to know anything, such as merely the way you think, or to check on your level of honesty. Oh!, I said.
I have asked others about the "job interview", for being accepted as a Pysicist (Physics degree Ph.D.), and others about other Ph.D., really jobs in Science. They have given me similar answers.
You were asked an off topic question several times. They are still going to pick the candidate that they think fits the job and the people they are, their bosses are, and the people you have to work with. You and I typically have no idea who they wlll hire, they also do not know if you will accept the job, if they offer it to you.
In my business voice,
...Katie.
In my other way,
LOVE and love,
...Katie.
