My first choice would have been Methodist, but there seems to be very few in the area. But I think I'd fit in okay at an Anglican Church :)

Anyway, I want a church with a good variety of people, including young people like me (In their late teens, 20's, and early 30's), that believes woman can be church leaders (as I am somewhat a feminist), which cares about the community, is biblical (views the New Testament is the truth, although if they believe there are a few errors, I don't mind), and believes all can be saved. Relaxed is best, and good music/ prayer/ hymns is good too! Oh, and a place I can make awesome friends who share a faith in Jesus!

My view towards rituals such as water baptism and holy communion is neutral. I don't think they hurt, but I also don't think they are central to Jesus's message. Therefore, whatever a church views them as is irrelevant to me.

Any ideas?? There are sooo many Anglican Churches in the area that I got a bit overwhelmed searching!

Would I have been best to post this in a different section? (e.g. AU/NZ). Can I also link to it from one or two other sections to ensure it is seen? (Edit: I did do this)

I'm going to be honest: your views on the sacraments are not Anglican, & really don't fit Methodism either. Anglicans officially believe in the Real Presence of Christ at the Eucharist - it's the central act of Christian worship, & is very important. Baptism is also very important in that it is where we are "born again," marked as Christ's own, & visibly join the Church.

However, you're still welcome to attend the Anglican Church, & of course we would love to have you. Just be aware of what the Church believes & should you seek official membership know that this is along the lines of what you may expect to learn.

Good luck finding a church.

I agree entirely with Graceandpeace.

The Blessed Holy Sacraments (are of Love) and Jesus gave mankind His Last Supper through His Disciples to receive His Holy Eucharist/Host, God The Most High gave mankind through John and Jesus to receive The Holy Spirit through Baptism with confirmation of The Holy Spirit within Jesus/God/The Holy Spirit's Blessed Sacraments later through our faiths.

"Do this in Remembrance of Me".

The Blessed Sacraments in Church:

Jesus Christ our Saviour encourages mankind to receive His Blessed Holy Sacraments of Love of which contain His Blessings, Gifts and Graces within His pre-Blessed Holy Eucharist for mankind:

This is one of Jesus' Divine Mercy holy messages to mankind through Saint Faustina:

"My great delight is to unite Myself with souls...when I come to a human heart in Holy Communion, My Hands are full of all kinds of graces which I want to give to that soul.

How painful it is to Me that souls so seldom unite themselves to Me in Holy Communion.

It pains Me very much when religious souls receive the Sacrament of Love merely out of habit, as if they do not understand what this Food is. I find neither faith nor Love in their hearts. I go to such souls with great reluctance. It would be better if they did not receive...".

On Confession/repentance of sins Jesus says:

"Repent and believe in The Good News" to His Disciples for mankind and in Jesus own Divine Mercy Holy messages to mankind through Saint Faustina:

"When you go to Confession, know this, that I am waiting for you in the confessional. I am only hidden by the priest, but I Myself act in the soul. Here the misery of the soul meets the God of Mercy. From this fount of Mercy souls draw graces solely with the vessel of trust. If their trust is great, there is no limit to My Generosity".

These Divine Mercy (Jesus is our unfathomable Divine Mercy Himself) Holy messages of Jesus Christ our Saviour's always directly reflect His New Testament and God our Eternal Father. The priority at the end of the day for all (most greatly including myself) is to repent sins from a genuine remorseful heart regularly to Jesus (one on ONE is better than not at all) and to receive somewhere in one of Jesus' Christian Churches His Holy Eucharist - His Flesh and/or Blood - focussing on Jesus from your Heart - ie what Jesus endured for us all.

I wish you all the best in your endeavour to find one of Jesus/God's Christian Churches.

Love and kindest wishes your Sister in Jesus Christ our Saviour

My view towards rituals such as water baptism and holy communion is neutral. I don't think they hurt, but I also don't think they are central to Jesus's message. Therefore, whatever a church views them as is irrelevant to me.

I have looked into it a bit more. I must admit my view of them is now positive. Baptism is deeper than I thought it was, and I hadn't even heard of Confirmation! I had heard more about the ritual itself, and not really the deeper meaning. I had read about the Holy Communion in the bible, and admittedly I already was positive about that, dunno why I said I wasn't. I am still very skeptical about infant baptism. But adult baptism, I think it is important.

Anyway, I dunno if I will ever be baptised. My family aren't Christian (although a few of my friends are, of various ages), and most of my family don't even know I am... so it is kinda tricky. I think I want to think about it a bit more, but I think I really do want to be, and it would be so awesome to be.

Thanks for your replies :)

The Anglican Diocese of Sydney is very much against women in leadership.

I never like to dissuade people from a church they are interested in, but on this forum we try to give the best guidance possible. Ebia is right in what he said, and, for other reasons you've given us, an Anglican church most likely would NOT be the most satisfying choice for you. You'd be welcome, of course, but I strongly suspect that you'd find it not to be the church for you.

This is probably the forum to have come to, but you can always try some others.
