If this accident makes a parent unfit then what about drunk driving which kills a lot more children? (Thankfully drunk driving fatalities has been cut in half since the 80's)

Another case where even the NRA will /facepalm. America doesn't have a gun problem, it has an idiots with guns problem.

I'm baffled why anyone would think a 9 year old girl would need to use a machine gun.

Sure but things happen for a reason. We can't explain it all otherwise we wouldn't need God would we?

Yes God could have prevented this from happening but he could have prevented any tragic thing happening. Like I said there are reasons why things happen and all things no matter what anyone says is according to God's will.

My point is that "God is watching over this young girl" is going to come as little comfort to the family of the man she accidentally killed.

Might not be a whole lot of comfort to her, as she grows up having to come to terms with what she's done.

I would tend to err on the side of: "Keep 9 year olds - and anyone near them - safe from machine guns" rather than on "Support 9 year old machine gunners' rights!"

His Children's Video to the little girl

Even though this child is not responsible humans have a tendency to take responsibility at times during tragedies.

I felt this video was very heartfelt, and you can tell he raised good kids.

I hope if she does have any unwarranted guilt this helps her heal...and move forward.

Agreed!

A 9-year-old shouldn't be touching guns to begin with, let alone one like that. This poor girl has to live with the knowledge that she killed someone for the rest of her life now. Absolutely tragic.
