I love that song, and I wish Dan could have heard it. If you believe in Him, God will release you from all your chains. Forgive you for all your sins. Suicide is never the answer. No matter if you have anything else in your life, you always have God. He will not let your drown. I wish Dan could have seen that. He took the wrong path and it's very sad. I cared about him.

I wish he could have too, but he wasn't in his right mind and for that I don't believe God will hold him accountable.

2 more pictures I found. The first one is Dan with a guy he fought with in the Bosnian war in the early 90's. (the dude was huge and went on to be an Olympic baskeball player). He moved to the U.S several years later and wanted to reunite because he said Dan saved his life. We were at some kind of charity event here and they met up. The second one was just a guys night out at the bar. Not sure why he's making that face but it must have been some good Jack.

I love all the pictures  great photo of Dan and the Bosnian soldier and amazing they were able to reunite. and btw if you don't sweat while drinking Jack you're doing it wrong. ^_^

I "met" Dan in the prayer thread for Tim Love. I remember him sharing all the stories of the time they served together and the love he had for his brothers in arms, and I remember when he posted about his wife leaving him and his family disintegrating, and the tremendous loss that he experienced. It is so sad to see one who was so full of life become what we saw in the end, but the fact that he was still the same loving person, reaching out to others when he was in such need, himself, is a testimony to the fact that He was still one of God's sheep.

Praying for his family. :prayer:

Thanks for your post A New Dawn. And Nutcase you are right about the Jack!

One more picture I found. 3 of the guys in the picture (including Dan) took their own lives, and the other 3 died in Iraq and Afghanistan. Survivors guilt can be an ugly thing.

Thank you for the picture and sharing......it's a travesty that there is not a place our heroes can seek healing and refuge in.....tragic.

Yes it is :( Praying for all.

I was another one of the "marrieds" who posted on this thread when it was in the mature singles section. I would gladly have my posts removed if it means they can have their thread back.

I am so blessed by all the love shown for Dan on this thread. Dan was a friend of mine on the Men's Corner for a number of years. I tend to stay there as far as my posting on CF.
I am sure Dan is enjoying heaven and the sorrows of this life are far behind. So now we have the task of loving one another. This world is rocky at best and those that know not Christ will not always be there for us. Let's be there for one another and help and pray for each other. One day before we know it we will be on the other side with our friend Dan.
God bless you all!
What a great message. It gives me comfort.
:)

This picture of Dan inspired me to go fishing. Yesterday we were at port so I did.

Now I don't know if you are ready to see such an amazing pic so prepare yourselves. This one totally puts that puny little thing to shame. Ready??? Ok here it is..............................................................................

:) I had fun though and I thought about Dan a lot bc fishing is one of the things I know he loved to do most.
Praying for his wife, kids and family.
