Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set upon a hill cannot be hid. Matthew 5:14

haha, this sounds heaps fun. I like moments in the Scriptures, which could have been funny situations like unintentional.

This part where Jesus says to his disciples, I can imagine Jesus standing there speaking deep words of wisdom, words of God, "Be careful of the yeast of the Pharisees" then the disciples huddled around each other, saying... "He's saying that because have no bread left".

Then Jesus with a puzzled look on his face replying, "What... I did not mean that... I meant... Why are you guys still talking about bread? Haven't you guys seen the miracles I've done? And I was talking about the teachings of the Pharisees."

I just crack up inside at that part, it reminds me and shows a real human side to Jesus and the Disciples.

Bring em on!

Matthew 19:13-15.
"Then were there brought to him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come to me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven. And he laid his hands on them, and departed there."

Can't you just picture the little children trying to come to Jesus like a child in pain comes to their mother, father, or big brother or sister? Having been a mother and now a grandmother I surely can. And these little ones may or may have not been crying out. And yet the disciples rebuked them just like many do who do not see the importance of listening to, praying for, or attending immediately to the needs of the little ones. Too typical adult behavior in which ears are deaf because of maybe too many cries..too much of an annoyance when they think there are more important things to do. But Jesus not only warmly welcomes these little ones but tells his disciples that the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to the children!

Wow..what an awesome scene as Jesus lays his hand on them. I can see the little ones lighten up and stop crying.

The point of the story is that Jesus loves children.

Let us pay attention to all of the children in our lives before they grow up and move away and we look back and know we missed our golden opportunities because maybe we thought we were too busy and had other things to do. Let's pay attention today!

And let us turn to Jesus since we too are all God's children who need His healing and His attention. :)

:cityh:Isaiah 40:30-31. "Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men, stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

Picture A Scripture

This is a thread for posting a picture with a correlating Scripture...been having fun doing this, and it helps with grasping/meditating on The Word.

Example: (Utilizing a "cat" theme)

ht_jlm9945_snow_leopard_081231_main.jpg

According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:
<-----> Hosea 13:6+7

I will offer a word picture. Consider Matthew 7:13-14.

13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. This would be like a 10 lane super highway full with traffic, continually.

14 Because[a] narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
This would be like a passage between two buildings spaced a foot apart. The only way to progress along a path between the buildings is to pull in your stomach and go sideways at a very slow pace.

This is always what I see when I think of these verses
