if I were to answer this question I would tell what the scriptures should be taken to mean, not what normal christians think they do.

I do not share my own thoughts about the bible any more than I need to because they are considered blasphemy.

Well, since you won't tell us what you think of the bible, then tell me what you think normal Christians think about the following verse?
"For God so loved the world, that gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life"?

Do normal Christians glean from this verse that God desires to save us, or that he desires to send us to hell? And who does normal Christians glean from this verse has the choice of action?

If I desired to debate the bible I would have done so already. you have more than enough information from this thread to gather a good idea of what I think. I have no intention of debating scriptures. I cannot tell you what I think without risking being reported and I am not going to.

No, you misunderstood me. Re-read my post. I'm not asking about your interpretation... I'm asking, from your polling, what you have found that normal Christians think about John 3:16 with regard as to whether God desires to save us or send us to hell ...and also about the action item regarding whosoever believeth. It's a legitimate question.

I did understand your question. I chose to not respond with what you asked for because I think it would lead to a dispute over scripture which is not my intent.

Christians generally think Jesus is rescuing them from a tragedy that they take responsibility for and that Jesus doing this is an act of love and mercy.

Ok, so if you already know what Christans generally think concerning God's desire to save us by our accepting Jesus Christ as our saviour, then why do you intentionally mischaracterize God's loving desire to save us by saying "The goal of the gospel is to prevent your own god from putting people in hell. Something that is a part of his own plan." You already know that Christians would not agree with your mischaracterization of God's desire to save us from going to hell.

Would you please just simply explain your true intentions for starting this thread?

because as I said before I am not trying to learn your theology i am trying to learn what the true nature of your system is. I do not agree that you understand the bible so I do not accept that your system is what you say it is

Ok. I think I get it now. You are not actually asking questions of us so that we can help you learn about our faith because you don't think we understand it correctly ourselves. Wow... Not sure what to say in response to that but Ill try to keep it in mind for the future.

Thanks for the explanation.

I am trying to understand why christianity happened, I am also not a christian and I cannot be one. Do you see what that implies? asking questions that cause you to display how you act or think allow me an opportunity to see what you really are by looking at your reactions. I am trying to learn how you operate, not your theology.

Well I found this to be an interesting read.

I too do not say what my views are on most things, for the same reason.

Unfortunately Religion is supposed to bring one to "God" when in many cases it does the opposite. It is not God that is flawed, it is those who judge for him

I understand. You seem be trying to prevent your lord and savior from destroying them. The moral dilemma here is my concern. Why would you need to save your friends from your own god because he will send them to hell if you dont?

It's a false dilemma. While Christians witness the gospel, God is the only one who does or could save people. We plant seeds but only the Holy Spirit can change mens hearts. God is sovereign over the entire process of salvation:

John 6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

Its not a false dilemma. That your witnessing isn't the FINAL factor doesn't change that the reason you witness is so they do not go to hell. The gospel of Christ ( the message you bring ) is the power of your god to save the lost.

You are the wall of protection between them and your gods hell.

Still hunting souls, Lee? Do you despise the Christian God so much that you feel compelled to place stumbling blocks before His children?

I hope you remember what Jesus was recorded as saying about your actions here.

no I thought all my threads here were dead and I've already asked that this thread be closed.

I did respond to him but I haven't been here in a week or two and I don't intend to post on this subforum ever again. I won't be making anymore threads here. I realized my hypocrisy and I stopped.
