By walking in the Light!

I John 1:6 "If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
By walking in the Light!

Or in the Beautiful JBP:
"Consequently, if we were to say that we enjoyed fellowship with him and still went on living in darkness, we should be both telling and living a lie. But if we really are living in the same light in which he eternally exists, then we have true fellowship with each other, and the blood which his Son shed for us keeps us clean from all sin."

Amen Gerry!

Not only do we have fellowship, but we are also called by God to this fellowship.

1 Corinthians 1:9-10
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord. Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Yeah! Right! That is whjat will really blow your mind, to think that Gerry and GraftMeIn, and Reeann, and Sharky and Alta and Dave and Blade and Auswig, and ALL the others who know Jesus were personally CALLED to this fellowship. Why then do so many who are called turn away and not answer?

Maybe we need some special brand of Q-tips? :D

Not realy sure, but one thing I can say is there are many scriptures pertaining to the type of fellowship we should have. Here's yet another...

2 Corinthians 6:14
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

i was thinking maybe your thread would be something to do with bible studies.... etc etc, but alas, to walk in the light! what simple words, a simple thing that God requires from us.

Amen! lol You are so right. It is so simple, many tend to overlook it, and seek something more complicated. But in a sense it does have to do with Bible Studies. Because it is through His Word that we receive the revelation of the Light of the World and are thus able to walk in that Light!

The same love that we have for God, that drew us out of the world, also draws us closer together into fellowship with one another.

This fellowship we have with one another thru Christ, what is it's purpose?

It's purpose? That we may have life more abundantly to the glory of God! I think that God is highly glorified when His people gather together in His name to share the love that He gave to them.

To walk in the light... does that mean to have a transparent life ... to let the light shine on every area and show what is there? Or is there more to that?

transparent in that the glory of God takes over every aspect of us? to walk in the light so that it disperses the darkness we have.

The light also serves as a guide. A lamp to both to our own feet and to others who also choose to walk in it's path.

I thinking that Gods people have been called into fellowship so that they will be united together as gospel workers.  To carry forth the divine commisson that Christ gave to his disciples.
