My second son has a birthmark on the back of his neck in the shape of a cross, so he wears it all the time. :) My oldest son has a birthmark on his arm in the shape of a dove in flight. I'm not saying either is significant, but I think they're cool.

I do not wear jewelry to advertise the fact that I am a Christian or to remind me of who I am , but I try to wear the cross in my heart and put on the armor of God. I have been very happy many times in the past that , when I reflected upon the times I have acted as a pathetic sinner, there was no outward sign for people to see, that put Christ and Christianity in a poor light. If I were to be wearing a cross as I set a bad example of Christian charity I feel I would be doubly guilty. I think that the best way to express to the world that one is a Christian is to act as if one was a Christian. As Christians, we should be known by our fruits and our love not by our jewelry.

I wear mine as I remember to put it on. I used to wear one 24/7/365, my confirmation cross my Mom and Dad gave me, but the chain broke one day at work and I slid it into my purse. The next day, as I was going to the jewelers to get some rings sized, someone broke into my car and stole my purse. I haven't found one like it since.

I wear my cross as a declaration, not a decoration. It reminds me to be the Christian I am and to not do the things that would keep someone from seeing a witness to my Faith in Christ.

I have never worn one. I find it a rather gruesome symbol. If Jesus had been shot, would you wear a necklace with a gun on it? I just don't understand the whole cross thing.

It could be because Jesus was sent to die on the cross to defeat the devil to save us from eternal damnation so we may have everlasting life.

It is a symbol of victory for Christians. The victory that Christ won for us upon a cross.

i heard a mormon say the same thing. and i thought it was just as odd to hear them say that back then as i do now....

if it wasn't for the Cross, we would have no salvation.

period.

Had God used a gun to die for me for the forgiveness of my sins and to restore a right relationship with Him so I would have eternal life, then I would indeed wear a necklace with a gun on it.

For Christians, the cross is not "gruesome" but is the means by which our sins were forgiven and our salvation was won. On the cross, the single greatest act of love in the universe occured, and that was when Jesus Christ died for mankind. It is where the full glory of God is revealed in Christ.

How a Christian can refer to that as "gruesome" is beyond me.

All the time, except for right now; as the chain wore out after many years, and need a replacement.

My wife got me a new chain on Sat; it's back on.
