The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. I am trying to keep these things as part of my every day life, have a schedule of sorts
a friend said I was legalistic
but if I keep these three things I am better at resisting temptation.
I can not brag because I know that on my own I will fail, it is only Jesus working in me that I have any hope of salvation.
I also charged up my MP3 player
I have not done that in months, having some music in my day to day life also seems to help a bit

This morning I put the house pump back on again, after it broke down for the third time in a week,:o I hope the repairer fixed it properly this time, it took me almost an hour to reconnect all the plumbing this morning for the third time in less than a week.
I installed a virtual windows xp version alongside my Ubuntu operating system, handy having two operating system running alongside each other.

I find Depression is a battle field where God rescues us from the captive of satan. I can not escape from this field, but need order and strength from the Great Commander to keep going ahead.

I am so happy to hear from you. Depression is a terrible trial. I suffer as you do brother my heart is with you. I posted a comment in the" how are you feeling today "thread this morning I would like for you to read it, if you would like. also I found an article regarding nutrition and depression. Im going to start taking omega 3's, vit d, and b vit's in addition to the supplements I already take. Im fighting back im not going to let depression destroy me.

I came here to pray for others, even though at times I feel sad, I still want to help others by praying for them. Finding it hard to deal with facing being homeless, especially with the holiday coming up. My family was not really big on holidays, but we did try to celebrate them at times. I miss being around my friend and her kids, they live in another state, where I hope to move one day soon. She is a nice person and I can talk to her, even though she may not understand everything I am going through, she at least listens.
I just hope God can soften the heart of the friend I am staying with, to allow me to stay till after the holiday. I help as much as I can, I wash the dishes I use and take out her trash. I picked up after her cats and kittens, cause I know she is tired after going to help her Grandparents that are in their late 80s. Not easy and it is time consuming, plus she has to take them to their appointments and pick up any medications they need.

Great thread! It's good to realize that there is something good and worthwhile in all of us, and in each day God gives us, even when not feeling positive about ourselves or our lives.
I'm recovering from a bad fall last week, complete with minor tbi --concussion. The migraines have stopped. The rest of the world is not happy that they all were put on hold for over a week---I told God about them!

Went to go visit a man in Hospice today, but he wasn't feeling well so I didn't stay long.
He still appreciates the effort though I know.
