A little perspective: the sequester will cut $85 billion out of a $3.5 TRILLION dollar budget. This is STILL AN INCREASE over previous budgets.

Also, the Fed is putting $85 billion PER MONTH into the economy under QE3.

ALL OF THIS POLITICAL BICKERING IS PURE GRANDSTANDING TO MAKE PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE MAKING HARD CHOICES WHEN IN FACT GOVERNMENT SPENDING CONTINUES TO INCREASE.

The fight is not about limited government but WHO GETS TO SPEND MORE AND MORE OF YOU TAXES or BORROWED MONEY.

THIS WILL NOT STOP UNTIL VOTERS REALIZE THAT THEY SCREWED UP AND THROW THE ENTIRE PACK OF LOOTERS OUT.

It looks as though the sequester will take place on March 1st. I don't know what all the complaining is all about, the Congress and the President agreed with the proposed cuts of the sequester a year ago. Additionally if they didn't like what was being cut they had plenty of time to put together an alternative set of cuts in place of what is proposed.

I hope it does and I will watch all the Republicans as they get voted out of office.

Yeah cause low-information voters tend to vote democrat.

Fact of the matter is, this is entirely about trying to destroy the opposition, Republicans need to understand that the Democrats want one party rule just like a dictatorship.

If this actually happens it WILL have an effect. If this happens the military will furlough all civilian employees (essentially cutting their pay 20% for six months) and the lost time will have huge effects on our mission, readiness and training.

Now you know why our enemies love Obama.

This isn't even 1 percent of the budget. Democrats have called for our defense spending to go down, well it's going down.

Real government reduction is what conservatives want, and now that there is going to be cuts the conservatives are complaining. Pretty funny.

Because they are not real cuts, not real reductions. They are not stopping the growth of government, just slowing it down.

Not hard to figure out.

Figure out? The cuts are real, and I am surprised you don't see they are? If the cuts weren't real, then the slowing down is not real. They are cutting spending, just not as much as you would like.

Not at the expense of national defense.
The national defense is just fine. We still spend more than everybody else.

The real debate is what to cut. It does not matter where the cuts come from, civilian jobs will be lost.

By any chance, are you a civilian military employee?

Lets double it. No, triple it. Still not a dent.

How about 10 times? Let's cut the budget by $850B/year.

I am in the military. I work with a lot of DoD civilians, my unit is actually 2/3rd civilian so a lot of work wont be getting done for us.

Where are the real cuts Obama promised to be part of a balanced plan? Instead, we get more taxes. He doesn't want to cut anything, except perhaps cut the Bill of Rights.

What a LIAR.

I can understand your concern for military cuts. It hits close to home. Cuts have to be made and jobs will be lost, and that is why drastic cuts would be devastating on the economy. Would you prefer that workers in the welfare offices lose their jobs instead of your friends and co-workers? Somebody has to go....

This is less than the government BORROWS every year to fund their increased spending.

Over $1T a year for EVERY year Obama has been in office. Notice a trend?
