Exactly-see this is what I get when I read, yet all the leaders say the receipent must have faith (like the size of a dinosaur
) to receive the benefit and that "God will not hear a sinner man's pray" thus those living in "sin" can not be healed-So many contradictions. Some say you have to ask and believe; my reading gives me a different understanding. While I'm no evangelist nor theologian-I want an understanding of what the promises of healing are and WHY it is not taught as standard fare in churches today when it was so much a part of Jesus and the disciples ministry.
the source of doctrinal disagreements is that too many times:
1. GOD'S WORD is NOT studied in depth -
2. doctrines are made without rightly dividing the WORD of GOD -
3. people believe stuff they are taught without checking it out in the WORD themselves -
4. people don't study JESUS to see what HE did - HE is the best source of SEEING GOD'S WILL clearly
demonstrated -
5. people don't talk to GOD enough to get HIS direct help in understanding what HE said/meant in HIS WORD -
there are a few ways to get healed - ALL of them are by the POWER of GOD -
1. MOST TIMES someone has faith (the sick one - the friend/family - the healing minister) - it doesn't take much faith - but someone needs to believe GOD'S WORD about "by HIS STRIPES we WERE healed" -
2. SOMETIMES an anointed healing minister has a gift of healing - miracles - etc - that flows strongly and people get a miracle healing - like with JESUS - paul - peter - etc -
3. ANYTIME believers step out on the authority of JESUS' command to go into all the world - preach - teach - make trainees/disciples - cast out demons - lay hands on the sick and they SHALL recover - GOD backs up HIS WORD/command and does HIS part if we do our part -
this is what charles/francis/joan hunter and curry blake teach - preach the WORD on healing to INSPIRE/strengthen/encourage the faith of the sick ones - and then lay hands on the sick who heard that teaching - and they DO recover -
roger sapp teaches on how to overcome the lies that cause people to wrongly BELIEVE they have a hindrance that STOPS them from getting healed - he does this to COUNTER henry wright's teaching (every sickness has a legal right to be there and you need to find out what your hidden sin is - repent - and then get healed) - JESUS healed everyone - so roger sapp tries to convince people of this TRUTH so they can have unhindered faith to be healed -
gloria copeland - kenneth e hagin sr - kenneth copeland - charles capps - keith more teach the wof way to get healed and STAY healed - be strong in the LORD - strong in HIS WORD - strong in HIS FAITH - strong in HIS AUTHORITY - and you will possess ALL that GOD PROMISES by FAITH not works - the basics thread i posted a link to previously explains more about how all this works -
the difference between the wof way and the hunters/curry blake is that -
1. wof focuses on you standing on GOD'S WORD yourself so that whatever you attain will not be taken from you - you UNDERSTAND what and why GOD said what HE did - and you are deeply strengthened in faith to STAND and KEEP on standing in HIS POWER - you may get healing results instantly - or you may take awhile to grow in FAITH - but the important part is the you receive permanently -
2. the hunters and curry blake are more concerned with you getting out there and getting immediate results - nothing wrong with that - especially if your clock is ticking and you need a healing quickly - you and the people you minister to may NOT be really strong in faith - but you have enough to step out and do what JESUS said - lay hands on the sick and they SHALL recover - the lack of faith strength SOMETIMES allows people to LOSE their healing - you need GOD'S faith to get healed - BUT you also need GOD'S faith to stay healed - people that lose their healing then can be open to lies about WHY they lost their healing - and then may struggle to get RE-healed -
so if you and the people you minister to realize that they need to stay close to GOD and grow in HIS FAITH based on the promises in HIS WORD - you could get an immediate healing and keep it -
my personal opinion is that the hunters and curry blake's method of getting great numbers of immediate healings is an ok way to start - BUT also IMMEDIATELY ADD the wof principles to grow strong in HIS WORD - HIS FAITH - HIS AUTHORITY - to KEEP your healing -
