I would say that the difference between us and other animals is that we debate theology on the internet.... but I'm not 100% positive that everyone debating theology on the internet is human. I heard a rumor about monkeys and typewriters.

Clothes don't matter. Clothes aren't part of a biological system. We are biologically animals. Stop changing the subject and answer my question: Which of those criterion do you disagree with that makes humans distinct from animals? We have at least one more: we wear clothes. Animals don't.
What if the choices were only animal, vegetable, or mineral?
Easy. None of the above.
That was not one of the choices.
And if you are not an animal, what are you? How would we scientifically tell you apart from "animals"? What species would scientists classify you as belonging to?
I wear clothes.

Which laws specifically state that humans are not biologically animals? What makes you think that social structures and hierarchies are unique to humans, when in fact they are quite common amongst other higher animals, especially those closely related to humans.Humans are social creatures. We've created laws that govern our actions and ideas about what is right and wrong.
Is abortion a choice? Are gay couples the same as married? Do animals have rights? All ideas inscribed in law and reason and justice.
By law the laws of 50 states, we are not animals.

I said legal structure applies and I claim it takes precedent.
Nobody cares what a biologists opinion is on important matters.
He may change his mind tomorrow anyway and decide that
chimps are human and have the right to carry weapons
and choose to get married. Who cares what he thinks.
Invented definitions don't concern me. One may change their mind or be overruled tomorrow. You actually said "laws", not "legal structure", but okay. Of course the legal structure pertains to humans, because we crafted it. But how does that change the fact that, biologically, we are animals? What, in the definition I gave you for animals, do humans not have?
Actually, anyone with at least two braincells to rub against each other place great importance on the consensus of biologists in important matters.
It's kind of why medicine works and it's also why we don't rely on prayer beads and magic when we have health issues that need fixing. And those that do rely on them tend not to last long.
"Animal" is a scientific term. As such, it's highly relevant. Additionally, if you don't care for invented things, why do you care so much about the status of non-human animals vs. human animals in the legal system?Invented definitions don't concern me. The OP says nothing about biology. It's only one factor.
Yeah well, there's a reason the West is technologically, scientifically, economically, and militarily superior to the rest of the world: because it's not run by people who don't identify with that opinion. If you want to see what a society dominated by religion instead of science is like, you're welcome to pack your bags and move to the Middle East.A swell opinion billions of people around the world do not identify with.
I'm sure you have credible sources for these assertions. No way you'd be making them without them, right?Non-western medicine is on the increase, even in the west. Eastern medicine is moving in and has been around multiple times as long and is favored now as a vital part of western medicine. Think about cancer-centers-of-america and how they are growing......not based on technology or worms & acid testing. I went to a chiropractor just last month for a constant back pain because I knew my MD would just have given me pain pills and not healed the problem. As she usually doesn't. I often go to a specialist because of her poor diagnostic skills.

You would have to use the Bible. That means you would have to learn to tell the difference between a regenerated person that is born again and a unregenerated person that is still just an animal. This is pretty much a religious issue. You have already admited that science can not tell the difference between a christian and a non christian. How would we scientifically tell you apart from "animals"?
