I've met with the same story .

I have been advised not to buy a new missal because further revision is still to come .

I can't get a definite answer so I have e-mailed the English bishops' media office for clarification .

I will let you know the reply when I receive it .

I have received a reply . Work is in progress on a revision of the Lectionary , but it's not expected to be completed for another 5 to 6 years .

Ahh, my priest mentioned at Mass a while back. Oh, well, I've just gone and bought one now anyway it was only £13.50 I can easily buy another one when the next translation comes out. :)

Our priest seems to have changed his mind . He has now put it in the newsletter that there were will probably be no further changes for years, and orders are now being taken from anyone who wants the new missal . And the price is less than £8 , so that seems to be a bargain . :)

Oh! I didn't know there was to be more changes pending

My poor Mum might go High Anglican if there are many more ^_^

I don't think there are any more changes . Some priests talk off the top of their head at times . :)

I'm sure your mum would feel at home at a "High Anglican" Eucharist . ;)

Many Roman Catholics visit the Anglican Shrine in Walsingham and come away thinking they have been to a Catholic Eucharist .

I'm not sure about the situation in England, but in the US my understanding is that the NAB is going to be revised along with the Lectionary for Mass so they correspond. They are currently roughly the same, but due to some revisions to the lectionary there isn't a 1:1 correspondence in every case. This is going to be long process, though. I would guess at least 5 years.

Right, so I'm considering buying a New Missal but I heard that there's no point as apparently the readings will be translated also in a year or two, so... what should I do?
Buy a new missal, or wait?

I would just wait since they are going to translate the readings in a year or two.
