So what's happening with atheists and Christians these days?

If you mean us personally...

As a hobby project, I've started writing a Google Android app that is a dungeon crawl game. I'm already creating simple random 2D graphical mazes.

And I'm visiting some relatives over the Easter holidays, which should be fun.

Hi Mark,

If you mean us personally...

haha what a strange way to begin a conversation. :) But actually I was kinda referring to how atheists and Christians are relating these days, in general, but whatever!

As a hobby project, I've started writing a Google Android app that is a dungeon crawl game. I'm already creating simple random 2D graphical mazes.

Does that mean it's specifically for a phone? I miss playing rpg games on supernintendo. I saw a guy selling a supernintendo on the footpath the other day and I was so tempted to buy it but I had stuff to do and then I would need to buy a tv to play it and then I would have needed to connect to mains power or get an expensive (yet cheap in the long run) solar system to power the TV+console and I just couldn't be bothered to go through all that with my other responsibilities. :|

I think final fantasy 2 was my favorite game.

So you as a professed Christian would convince me, a recovered Christian, that there are no recognisable or distinct "sects" within the christian church.

Pure strawman blah blah still straw

pointing a very annoying habit most Christians have of skirting the actual issue.

I placed the issue squarely in the light of day, and you still refuse to see it. That's still not my fault, but I do not have to let you twist and distort that. The Church is Christ's Bride and there is only one. As someone who never came to terms with sexual purity, of course you never understood that.

I believe you were asked if you were an earthly earthly member of the earthly entity known and recognized as the Catholic church. Instead of just answering with a sufficient yes or no you chose to maneuver around the question

I am plainly NOT RC, as anyone can tell ^_^

Of course every Christian scriptually is a member of the one "spiritual body"

So you concede you have no point

So what's happening with atheists and Christians these days?

 So you really are in Kenya, and either off the grid or there is no grid?

Hi Raze. Yeah I've been in Kenya since 2006; I just can't seem to get away from this place!:doh1:

The Church is Christ's Bride and there is only one

I think this is true, but that only God knows the full membership. I believe the membership can (and does) include a wide range of people from all kinds of backgrounds, based more on their sincere, loving spirit rather than religious formulas.

I don't think there is much in the way of visible, subjective criteria which we can confidently use to say "this is a bad person" and "this is a good person", except probably in how we show love to one another.

The story of the good Samaritan is a good example of that. The Samaritan was not a Christian or a Jew; he was just a person who showed love, and Jesus used him as an example of what God is looking for in his Kingdom. I believe the story could just as well be called "the Good Hindu" or "the good atheist" and the lesson would still apply.

Hi Raze, I just noticed I missed your question about the grid. I'm not particularly off the grid, I just have an extremely limited income. I was living in a shipping container belonging to some friends. It had no electricity or running water (though I could fill water containers).

My work here is sponsored by donors so I try to keep the expenses down. But recently the friends who owned the container invited me to live with them, who are also living in converted shipping containers (we put them all in one location now), but they have a bigger budget than me and they've got solar power as well as a rain harvesting system and a toilet so I'm moving up in the world!

The downside is that I've had to organize the construction to put it all together and it's been sapping all my time. The real urgency was to get most of it done before the rainy season and we just completed it yesterday (a couple days late) so I'm very happy about that. I finally get to see the outside world again!

I still have to hand wash my laundry though.:nooo:

Yes, though my game would also be playable on Android tablets, and at the new Google Play website.

 This is the Gospel. Sometimes He can also tell us an individual is His, sorta like when John the Baptist lept in his Mother's womb, at the sound of Jesus' Mother's voice. I've never had Him tell me someone is not His though.

Actually it was only 3 years in the container. The other 3 years I spent at a volunteer center in a rural area which was quite nice.

I've been in Nairobi for the past 3 years volunteering at a hospital visitation program and distributing Christian literature to people. The Christian lit stuff is what I'd normally be doing in any country, though.

You live in a shipping container, I have never used an app

Actually I've never used one either (that I know of). I have a really basic phone. I tried getting a touch screen phone (though it didn't have internet access) but I drop my phone a lot so I went back to the basics. The one I have now has been really good about not breaking.

I just want to say right from the start that I love that you guys are here.

My question is, why?

For me personally, I usually only join forums if they are about something that interests me or I am involved in.

For example, another forum I comment on from time to time is based around a hobby of mine. I like the topics and I also use it to improve my hobby. I do have to say that the people that claim they are atheists in this forum, for the most part are pretty respectful not just to Christians, but humans in general, so thank you for that.

But anyways, back to my original question, why are you guys here?

I'm actually here to be as arrogant as possible. Sorry if this sounds means, but being the only atheist in my family and one of the few in my town, I often am attacked and attempted to be converted. So I'm only here to improve my debating skills.

Thanks Fuji for your respect, well I'm interested in religions, philosophies of life and I enjoy debates, I think atheists have interests in these things, I think the majority of disbelievers concluded their way to disbelief by evaluating religion, society, science, philosophy, history.

^_^ While I appreciate the honesty, can I ask if arrogance is really a debating skill? Or might there be something better to shoot for? (I never took a debate class)

Are you a part of the same missionaries group that teaches condoms are sinful?

Well that's a direct question! I think that question is also synonymous with asking if one is RC; (Roman Catholic) maybe 2 birds can get addressed with one post?

Nahh it probably isn't. It's not like I've taken any debate classes either but I guess it's more about logic, knowledge, and flexibility. But when you're being arrogant you let yourself get carried away which, from my bad point of view, will lead into huge discussions, which will themselves lead for more opportunities to test your logic, knowledge, and flexibility.

Wau.... Now I'm kinda confused :confused:
