trying to make a difference little by little

I thought I brag a little as well, cause I am beyond excited, and wanted to make a thread and tell the world.

There is an organization (website) that help teachers by supplying materials for the classroom. One of the teachers that I co-work with on a regular bases asked me to help her write a proposal to get backpacks, doll house furniture, and a few other things for their classroom. I just checked my email and WE WON!! Our donations were doubled by a major bank, and a few people from parts of the country that we don't even know gave money. I am SO SO excited. We are going to get about 30 backpacks with so many materials inside of them for the kids!!!! I am so happy for them. There are so amazing people in the world and I am, SO, SO grateful.

Chuck, that is so cute. Thank you. I am so glad. I don't get to see the kids often and I am, so, so, thankful I got to Sub in that school. I love it there, and I loved the co-teacher. She is my preschool teacher twin.

But, I need to work on getting a six-pack like her. LOL.

Teachers rock! Both my Dad and sister are teachers, also one of my aunts and a cousin.

She has a six-pack? Is she a personal trainer too?

My Dad taught English (among other things) but is one of the Dean's now (as of last year), and doesn't teach anymore really.

My sister was teaching English to foreign students (ESL - English as a second language). She spent a few years in Japan doing it. She's back now but I think she want's out and is looking to get into administration/business.

No, but she has one!!!

Wow, Japan. My friends sister went to Korea to teach English. That was a very interesting experience and lots of stories. =)
She should definitely look for administration.

Korea is where I am right now. I've been teaching here for 8 years. It's quite the experience alright.
