The Black Swan

Hmm, no Princess Amidala or that girl from That 70's Show or ballet. I musta picked the wrong movie. This one is the 1942 swashbuckler adventure starring Tyrone Power and Maureen O'Hara. And what a darn good motion picture it is, I tell ya what! It's a shame they don't make pirate movies anymore. Even if they did, and even if they cast someone like . . . ohhhh, Johnny Depp maybe, a pirate movie now could no way be as good as they were back then!

I just recently DVR'd that movie, but haven't gotten around to watching it yet. So glad to find yet another good review of it

The last movie I watched was Be Cool starring John Travolta and Dwayne Johnson. The Rock is hilarious in this movie ^_^

Black Swan (2010)

I'm not sure what all the hype was about with this movie. Natalie Portman won best actress for her role? Why? Her expression barely changed once the whole film. I know she's a good actress but she displayed no range whatsoever. And the relationship with her mother is creepy and unbelievable . . . unbelievable as in come on, give me a break, could that be any more ridiculous?! Someone commented here a few weeks ago that it's a completely offensive and inappropriate movie for anyone. That's dead on. The sex was gratuitous and only put in there to sexually exploit the main character. Totally unnecessary and if you take that out then maybe you have a decent thriller worth watching. Maybe. Otherwise this movie is trash.

Human Feelings (Made-for-TV, 1978)

God is a woman! Well, He's a She in this movie. And Heaven is run like a corporation with different departments and divisions and workers who have jobs to do in their cubicles and offices. God's assistant calls her Mrs. G. and when Mrs. G. has a spare moment, "She" practices putting golf balls in "Her" office.

A young Billy Crystal, in only his second starring role, is a clerk in the Music Department of Heaven. God gets the yearly report on sin in Las Vegas and, because sin just keeps getting worse and worse there, "She" decides to destroy the city. But Billy Crystal is given a chance to get out of his Heavenly cubicle and go to Earth to find 6 righteous souls in 6 days to avoid the pending destruction.

Getting past God being a woman who is the CEO of Heaven that's run like some multi-national company, it's not a bad movie. It acknowledges God as our Creator and that we are responsible for our sins on Earth. People who have good souls are spotlighted. And since it's a TV movie, it's not filled with sex and profanity which is nice.

I think I'd actually watch this again someday.
